Today I had the worst night using the Cabal. Ive already mastered her(this was 2nd challenge) but I cant be more useful with her on platinum.

I realized I shooted more than used powers(Dash and Poison Knife thing power) but the other one that on rank 6 gave me 40% of shield recovery was very usful. So I moved all her points to weapons; although, at least on gold I did fine with points on power and weapon weight decrease.

But she doesn't have very resourceful attack powers. Dash is cool to samurai style, but on plat I dont lile to used that and end in middle of enemies. The poison spike thing is great, but runs out.

Ehh well, since I realized that I shoot more, gave her points on weapon and tried some assault rifles on plat. What a nightmare!!! I thought to take advantage of Turians weapon stability, so gave her revenant, but it was so inaccurate that distance fight was awkward, and happened again with smg hurricane(it did great in close), forcing me to be more close than I wanted with her.

Ahh specially wjen Phantoms appeared since my weapons didnt staggered them, but made Phantoms like coming even more directly into my Cabal and killing her easily. One solution I had was Acolyte her and yhe poising paralyzing spike.

I remembered how well falcons staggered phantoms so I thought stryker would do better, but no, :S

Anyway...
DO YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANY BUILD SUGGESTION AND TACTICS FOR A VERY EFFICIENT CABAL FOR PLATINUM?

hum, i have trouble reading u.

If u want a weapon platform, she s allright and very suvivable. Spam biotic focus, and keep few points in PS for teleporting purpose.

If u want have fun, its easier on gold with a double dash melee hybrid i have been trying for few days : 3 points in blades and everything else for melee. Wraith or raider or claymore or venom or

As a disclaimer I currently use and prefer a melee/ poison strike focused build, but the one above is easier on platinum

Cabal IS a Soldier, not a Vanguard. The bulk of her damage comes from her weapons. The blades are pretty good, but they are limited and not all that great vs bosses.

tbh I don't really like ARs on her all that much, using shotguns or SMGs(hurricane) work for her better and you'll be close enough to actually use nightshade blades as more than just a panic button, since they do decent damage.

and the revenant isn't really known for it's accuracy, more like a lack thereof.

Use Wraith or GPS on her. She works well with Shotguns along with other Vanguards. My build is a 6/6/6/5/3.

This is what I use. Yes, it is a PS intensive build. I don't like the concept of turning her into a soldier - she just feels like a weaker version of the HSol.

 

Weapon choices: You can replace paladin with talon or arc pistol if you prefer those. I like the reload rhythm with paladin.

 

Max poison strike is perfectly fine on platinum. You just need to be careful when using it. PS deals damage to enemies in a circle of certain radius with its center 1m ahead of your starting point. The description doesn't say that. PS when you are close to the enemies so that you'll end up behind them afterwards ((if not, you'll end up between them, which seems to be the case with you). 

 

Keep biotic focus active for movement speed and DR. Cast blades before engaging crowds of enemies. It is a fantastic tool against all humanoid enemies including phantoms.

 

Blades > shoot > PS > shoot x2 > PS/blades will just about murder every humanoid enemy even on platinum. Blades cause double stagger (original hit and explosive blades) and even PS staggers. As long as you PS from close ranges, you will be just fine.

 

Don't engage multiple bosses directly. But when they are isolated, do the same sequence as above with blades and PS. As long as you end up behind an enemy after PS, you are safe (relatively).

This is probably your best option on Plat if you're struggling with her. Drill to get double hits, shoot through walls and other enemies, etc. A few blades for stagger when you need them. Spam biotic focus, shoot all small things in the head, use Poison strike to get out of jams, you can mix in some melee when you get used to her as well.

Just make sure you pick speed evolution. That is all the advice you need.

Uh, my Sentinel only uses TECH ARMOR and I think he's a Turian.

This is my build. Basically you rely on speed. Get in - shoot a couple of blades, shoot Incendiary Lancer, poison strike then biotic shield and GTFO to the next spawn on Adrenaline. 

 

I can't help but notice you have incindiary ammo on and only 4 points in PS, which would = a 4 x 1 combo instead of 6 x 1. So I have to ask, isn't it better to max PS and bring nades back down to 4?

No. Because PS Incendiary explosions are quite rare with my playstyle, while I use Nighshade Blades all the time, basically cruising from ammo box to ammo box to fill them up. And you have to be stupid to not take exploding blades, that second stagger is a lifesaver.

I also have to say that that night I issue my problem with Cabals efficiency and he told me a few tips. That guy is so good with any character Ive seen him play, being always 1st place by x2 over 2nd place(just stating how deadly he is). I was being a faaaaar 3th place with Cabal.

So on one match he used Cabal too, to show me I guess. But in the end, even though he still was 1st place, I was 2 place close to him(in points). That was was got me thinking "Was I being too desperate with Cabal trying to get her high in scores?"

The original Cabal I had was great on gold. Biotic Focus' 40% shield recovery was life saving, and Poison Strike to get behind enemy and moving or repeating when enemy turns. Poison Blades explosion and paralysis is also great against Phantoms, but they really makes me run a lot to ammo boxes, taking me away from doing damage.

Poison damage always does damage and kills slower than actual attacks, and before enemy dies someone else has already done more damage and killed enemy.

I will just let her be what she is best instead of trying to force her to be a mediocre something she is not.

Ps: Revenant worked wonders with turian soldier because of his stability and power which rises his aim.

Revenant sucks butt. That's your problem. You can get away with that less than optimal setup on Gold. On Plat you better have a good setup or be really good at this game.

Yup. Revenant X is just flat-out inferior to Hurricane I, which is silly.

That's exactly why I just ignore PS and go with Claymore/Javelin. It might not be the archetypal way to play the kit, but it's not lacking in fun.

Yeah I know. But I'd hate to admit that I can't work around her problems and just turn her into a soldier :/ Just me though.
