I don't know if I'm in the correct section of the forum
But I'm wondering if there is something that I can change in the game config to increase the chances that songs play during the game? I find that the complete silence bothers me a lot.

Origins was very memorable, mass effect is incredible for music, I can't remember any music from inquisition.

The music is very lovely in Inquisition. Most of it pays homage to the music in DAO, and the main theme of DAI. It's such a shame it can't be played more often. And a version of Empress of Fire plays in Emerald Graves sometimes. It's beautiful! They need to lengthen the music, but they were going for a more ambient feel and sounds of nature.

What line_genrou was asking seemed to have little to nothing to do with your opinionated view of Inquisition's soundtrack. They seemed to be asking more for technical help.
Sorry, line_genrou, I tried looking it up but there seems to be nothing I could find related to your question. I think someone in a previous thread mentioned how the music is either very downplayed when in most of the areas with the exception of sound effects.
I am almost certain that the complete silence is a save game bug of some sort. If I start a new game - banter, music and environmental sounds are rich and almost always there. But as I progress further in the game, throw a few 10s of hours on, and it all seems to vanish or gets much scarcer. If that doesn't happen, sometimes I get the wrong song playing everywhere - I keep getting In Hushed Whispers in the Hinterlands and the Hissing Wastes. Sometimes Fallow Mire.

If you travel to a place from the war table, the banter and music seem to work. I tested it myself and that's when I heard all that lovely music I had missed out on before! However both banter and music are not meant to be frequent, so it will still end up with silence for around 10-15 minutes before starting again. And sometimes non-party banter will activate at certain locations.
