I always use the heart for that one, and when you check on him afterward and he asks if you're alright too.

We just had this talk, where he asked me if I was all right, and I didn't pick the heart in his previous conversation, I picked the "kind" (first to the right) option. Cullen still asked me how I was. Just thought you'd like to know

I don't think it's based on flirting with him. I flirted with him the whole time and have never won when cheating at chess. I also know plenty others in the Cullen thread as well have flirted/cheated and never won.

Same here. Although I have to wonder if it means Leliana flirted with him too during their game. (he says she uses the same cheats as the Inquisitor)

Thanks. I know he does either way. He's so sweet, but the heart option brings them a bit closer, so I find it suits it better. I still think the heart should have been used for close friendships too. I never saw every option as an attempt to flirt. It felt so black and white to make it only for romancing.
