Holy ****. I thought mine was bad.
I wish I could give these away.
Nah man, it's like a badge of honor to be so embedded in this terrible place.
I'm glad to see people on BSN not taking **** from the outraged SJW crowd. At least the off topic dwellers.
That's because many of us, the old guard of the off topic board were and are still on the bio mods **** list (not the bot mods, they're actually T800s in disguise) given we fought the SJWs, derailed and mocked or derided the hypersensitive tumblerinas on the forums to the point where Chris Priestly considered off topic a "hive of scum and villainy" and wanted it shut down.
Personally that was one of the proudest moments I've had here, God bless you Priestly, you hyper sensitive bastard.
Most of the old guard is still here, lurking in one form or another, we provide a core of clinical, bitter misanthropes combine that with heavy weight posters who crush the light weight users of other boards with walls of txt and that keeps the off topic forums the beacon of free speech in the boards that people can join, without being accused of being a privileged mysoginistic cis shitlord.
Off topic doesn't come with a trigger warning.
The only other exception is the ME3 mp board, those guys don't have time for any SJW rubbish. It's the domain of glorious spam and **** posting.

Did somebody say Thunderdome?
Again, it's nowhere near exclusive to them. The whole thing about harrassment and doxxing was very much a two front battle as far as the whole GG vs anti-GG circus was concerned. Death threats are made over all sorts of stupid stuff by gamers, down to a Call of Duty devs getting some because he nerfed some guns, and Youtubers like Totalbiscuit mention getting many of them a year IIRC over various issues. The hostility to any dissenting opinion on stuff like 4chan or the off-topic section of the Codex at least equals the worst things I saw on Tumblr or the like. And even if my perception of this is wrong, that's still nowhere near as bad as the fact that some of the people broadcasting racist/sexist message on the internet actually act on them, like that psycho guy who shot up a church of black people. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I never heard of even the most hardcore feminists starting a shooting rampage and killing men left and right.
Because let's be real, those being denounced as SJWs are a fringe group even mong feminists and the like. They in no way represent all the progressive people on the internet. At least among those I know, and read about on more serious parts of the 'net, very few go so far as to denounce stuff like a dev speaking of ''mechanical apartheid''. At worst they're not going to be overly comfortable with the connotations, but that's hardly a crime.
As for the message being picked up by offical outlets... I dunno, I live in Montreal so maybe it's true regarding the much more ratings-hungry media in the US, but here this sort of message is only broadcasted when a guest to Radio-Canada or somesuch says so, and they always get challenged the very few times it does happen that I saw. It's certainly not a dominant opinion among the media where I come from. The media and politicians here are socially minded, sure, but that's hardly the same thing.
And anyway, as I said upthread, it's very probably less of an issue of the media buying their discourse, and more that they are a great controversy magnet and thus bring about higher ratings which is the be all and end all of news media everywhere. Thus they get invited and are allowed to spew their vitriol; their adepts listen, their detractors watch and complain about how much they suck, but most importantly, everyone concerned tunes to the program and hands out those juicy ratings revenues.
Anyway. This is just me saying a lot of people are making mountains out of molehills with these things. The more attention this type of ''news'' is given, the more the hated SJWs get coverage and are happy.
You're not reading what I'm typing.
SJW's are the worst aspects of all internet communities, put together in a single package. They're intolerant of outside opinions, highly politicized, extremely rigid in what is or isn't moral, willing to ruin peoples lives for disagreeing opinions, and prefer their headcanons to reality, IE their inner circle info circulation instead of outside facts.
And you don't know what the news outlets outside of your local news is then. Because south of your boarder, and in many online publications, terms like Rape Culture, Privilege, Cis, and Internal Misogyny/Racism are becoming common vernacular for news and even a few academic areas. Terms whose origins are found in SJW-circle jerking. The entire controversy about "Mechanical Apartheid" was spread thanks to news outlets picking it up and siding with the message that the word should be censored.
That's basically what makes them so hateable in every section of the internet. They have traits everyone hates, and they get preferential treatment in the eyes of many. Its immature, but accurate to the situation.

Though, to be fair, the term "sjw" is being used so often here as well and people who have absolutely nothing to do with these radfem crazies, get called like this. Even I got called one.
Some of these users (who get called sjws) aren't being obnoxious and they're far away from an actual "sjw" trait. People who call others "sjw" because they disagree with them are almost as bad as the sjw's who say all the white cis males are evil.
Trust me, actual sjw's are way more ridiculous and obnoxious than most people here who get called like this.

False.
This section is unusually sane. The Inquisition forums are a complete SJW fest.
I like Inquisition forums, but sometimes their obsession with the balance of romance and overall sexuality can be tiresome to read.

Yeah! I checked. It's only 94.13%
Word of warning if you are Male, Hetrosexual of any colour and you want to enter in to higher education. or even Sit in public.
DONT.
oh its obviosly the latter. its the rich white kids who feel guilty for being rich white kids.
Americans should feel bad for stuff that happened 100 years ago ect ect ect. there is no forgivenes or redemption.
its even funny when they dont understand the concepts they spout.
here is the big question.

People are so ****** sensitive. Let up, and shake your body or something, and get off them soapboxes >:-(
Eh, you'd think they'd be mad that Deus Ex translates from the greek into "god by..."
This thread is the funniest thing I read in a long time. I honestly can't stop laughing. At first I thought it was just the usual internet trolling. But now I think people here honestly believe what they're tiping.
Eh.... we've all had different experiences with them.

Honestly I do not get what their argument is.
People being sensitive? Well that is just the state of society today. People are so overly sensitive, you have to be very PC when trying to create your own art. No matter what, someone is either going to claim it to be sexist, racist, or homophobic. Hopefully Eidos Montreal does not cave in as there really isn't an issue here.
As games like Witcher 3 and Grand Theft Auto continue to sell well, the SJW trend will quiet down. Think of SJWs like the Tea-Party Wing of the Republican party. Back in 2008-2010 they were very influencial in the GOP and even had a good showing in 2012. However their rhetoric has toned down a bit after the 2012 elections and in the 2014 mid-terms, they were really silent. By the time the 2016 elections come, the Tea-Party will be a thing of the past.
Sorry for the crappy analogy, but my point is that we just have the weather the storm and the SJW wave will pass over in time.

Why argue about Mechanical Apartheid when I can put my Mechanics up her thighs.
So these people want games to "grow up" (I don't understand why they're even obsessed with that.) so when Deus ex wants to explore themes like racism they get all offended over the term "mechanical apartheid?" If we are to consider games as art, then we need to understand that art isn't meant to conform to your feelings. It is meant to evoke and explore and at times be daring and controversial. If you can't handle the fact game developers are willing to tackle deep themes just because of a (admittedly silly) term mechanical apartheid, then I don't think you don't want games to grow up. You just want the developers to create safe and boring games. If these people believe in social justice and have a desire to have games to expand, then they need to encourage developers to take risks and explore themes like sexism and racism and allow them to portray ugliness of it. That means using terms like mechanical apartheid and extreme violence. Overall I'm not sure that they don't want the developers to explore themes and be creative. They just want to pressure them to create shallow and repetitive games that aren't meaningful and just scratch the surface on major themes rather than burst it open.
This is what I like about Witcher 3 over DAI. Both DAI talks about stuff like homophobia and racism, but the way Bioware approaches the issues is very safe and basic whereas CDPR approaches it from a raw, harsh, but interesting look at it. Both developers explore the idea but only one is willing to handle it the adult way and not assume that the consumer isn't mature enough to handle it.
This is why I am looking forward to the new Deus Ex not only for the gameplay, setting, story, and music, but also to see how far they are will to dive into such issues like racial/physical identity, economic class divisions, and oppressive government policies.
If movies are able to explore such issues with a mature and adult like theme, then why can't videogames?

No offense but I see more people talk about SJW's than actual SJW's talking, it reminds me of 10 years ago when people ran around the internet calling everybody "Libs" if they disagreed with anything the Bush Administration did. ![]()
