Who knows i mentioned that this whole outrage culture is stupid the next thing...
So, apparently there's backlash over the new Deus Ex's choice of words for the term "Mechanical Apartheid"

Prove what exactly? That some Gamer Gaters are sexist, homophobes, or misogynists? I don't bother to bookmark statements from either side, because truth be told, I couldn't care less about the whole Gamer Gate controversy. I also wish it would stop bleeding into topics that have nothing to do with that little internet pissing match. (not necessarily this thread) That being said, it is virtually impossible to ignore because it does often bleed into unrelated topics or people insist on reposting links and fanning outrage against the more moronic statements from either side.
Anyone who has been active on the internet for the last year or so however, at least on any site related to gaming, has probably run across stupid statements from both sides whether they wanted to or not.
So you said that GG was X Y Z, but when asked to prove it, oh I don't book that stuff. I call bullshit on off hand spurious comments like that. The age old statement applies here. Back your **** up, if you're going to assert something.
GG is largely the reaction to this clique of intrusive SJWs which co opt and feel the need to lecture everyone about how horribly sexists and bigoted they all are and they need to support them while they tell us all the right way to think. If anything, this is why it's continued for so long, a bunch of preach moralists have decided to sling **** at the gaming population and they reacted predictably, at which point the perpetual victims of Tumbler threw their skirts over their head and cried harassment... and yet continue to sling insults, and milk the victim narrative.
This has been brewing for years, it's not a new thing.
Personally I'm enjoying how the SJWs, Tumblerinas and God awful click bait alarmist hacks in games publications have been getting their teeth kicked in for the last 10 month or however long it's been.

I'd say that's no one's fault but Bioware's.
It doesn't have to be so heavily focused on it.
My Discover Andromeda: The Actual Galaxy thread over in the Andromeda section has 70 likes(currently) for the OP and several people came out of lurking to post in it.
Sad thing about it is that it implies there's a reason why people are lurking and I don't blame them. The Andromeda section at the moment is Romance Threads+Complaining+ME3MP Trolling. A few actual solid threads worth talking about, but there's little to go off of so people are pretty much just saying whatever they want.
I'm trying to spend time there to talk to people since you get to interact with new people rather than the same crowd that sticks around here for a while, but it takes effort to stay in there. The thread I made up there is a safe haven but its getting only a fraction of the attention that the romance threads get basically because everyone loves to be swept up in romance drama and requests.
*shrugs* Been here long enough to not be surprised.

They should do a game with no romance. Best way for the junkies to quit is to go cold turkey.

It's because The Lobby consists of an unusual mix of bitter neckbeard contrarians like myself, heavy posting forum vets like Jimmy or LPPrince and people interested in socialising outside the context of BioWare games like leighzard or Voxr.
The result is a group of people, who, on aggregate, aren't easily swept up in a lot of SJW sentiment and romance-centric viewpoints that dominate the other boards because they dislike it, they see themselves as above it, or they simply aren't interested in it.
In my case, I question EVERYTHING. I try to be as objective as possible. Outside looking in. I want to weigh one side against another and try to form an opinion based on that. Obviously objectivity only goes so far before it becomes subjective but the process is one I use pretty much all the time.
I find myself agreeing and disagreeing with the points brought up by SJW's depending on the actual subject being brought up. Over the years I've come to this conclusion-
There's rational people that question things and debate subjects, and then there's SJWs. Everyone thinks they're rational, but they are not. Some people are so committed to fighting for a cause that they'll fabricate an issue where one doesn't exist or pick any little thing to cause uproar over.
I've been trying to figure out why this is the case. So far, I'm of the opinion that there's a hero complex going on for these individuals.
See, back in the day there were folks like Mahatma Gandhi. Harriet Tubman. Martin Luther King Jr. Mother Teresa. All people you can look back on and think of as heroes and heroines in one form or another for the "fight" they put up for their cause, whether it was walking a salt march or aiding the poor and destitute. These people had to go out there and do what they did to create change and to help humanity as they did.
But now? We have this thing called social media. Where before you only interacted with those physically around you, now you can reach the world behind a computer screen at the snap of a finger.
The effort to create change has been lessened.
People want to be the next hero. They want to be the one that stood up and changed the world. But they don't want to go out there and actually do it. Back in the day these people were those that supported the leader, followed the leader;now, they're all trying to be the leader.
They can't. They shouldn't. Its not their place.
Certain people are fit for leading the charge. Others are better at supporting. But now we have a society filled with followers half-assedly trying to be leaders, and then when questioned on their decisions, go on the defensive. Even go to their fellow individuals that agree with them for support, again supporting the follower assertion.
Through videos, music, interviews, and other such ways of interacting with a worldwide audience, humanity is now convoluted. We are filled with people shouting others down in their attempt to stand at the top of the mountain, all fighting and racing while taking the beaten path, all the while we hope that a silent individual walks through the trees, pulls themselves over the rocks, crosses the creeks, and slowly, eventually, makes it to the top to remind us of how we should be behaving if we actually want to make something better.
Forgive the metaphor, but I hope you get the point. We as a race have made things so easy for ourselves that we've all developed this inherent complex to stand up and become something more;all well and good until our personal demons and flaws become amplified by our incapability to recognize our mistakes or where to truly focus our greatest qualities.
I hope we can turn things around, make things better. I've always considered trying to reach more people with my perspective on things, see what they think, hear their thoughts, weigh their perspectives against my own. Difficult task;people are quick to jump to conclusions and take the easy road. Far too easy to become one of the masses that constantly repeat the same mistakes. I'm sure I'm guilty of it, though I wish I wasn't.
I guess I'm just trying to find a way to make it through the trees, over the rocks, and across the creeks.

That'd likely only aggravate the problem. Quitting cold turkey only works if you are the one to initiate it. If someone else takes away your addiction without your consent, chances are you're getting loud.

Nah, they're public. Back in 9th grade a bisexual girl in my English class claimed I was homophobic for I don't remember what reason(her claiming this was just one incident), and no one took her seriously for it. Not because she was bisexual(which is what a SJW would tell you) but because there was literally nothing that could give anyone that impression and it came way out of left field. On top of that, everyone knew that I was anything but homophobic, so it was a ridiculous thing to say out of the blue as she did. I still can't remember why she said that. It was a bit crazy.

Unless you want the forums dominated even more than they are already with romance threads. It'd be like the character and romance section only amplified. Thats the last thing I want.
Bioware could do more to offset this though.

In some cases its justified though. Someone who isn't heterosexual has likely spent a lot of time having to defend themselves from society's perception of them as well as having to fight actual antagonism towards them so I understand if some jump to defend themselves a bit early. Others abuse it, and thats the difference between a rational person and an SJW.
Rational folks use these elements as reasons. SJWs use these elements as excuses.

These cry babies who complained about the "apartheid" don't even know what the hell they're talking about in terms of Rhodesia and stuff. 90 percent of them probably weren't even born yet, lol. Yet another reason why despise the millennial generation, even tho I am one, they talk and act like they know things that they never experienced and they act like they're all holier than tho.
They all have "only child syndrome". They're pretty awful.

Its the fact that 3rd wave is a money making scam. hell why do you think you getso much click baiting? they have to push narretives people have the internet now and can look up statistics and watch people like Teal Deer or the Honey Badger Radio.
So they have to invent BS like Man Spreading where sitting comfortably is a crime. or Shirtgate.

Uh, no.
I didn't say Gamer Gate was anything. I said some people in the Gamer Gate crowd had said moronic things, just I said some of the people involved on the other end of the spectrum said equally stupid things.
And they have.
And that's not even getting into the whole swatting and death/rape threats made by the more extreme elements of both sides.
But since you wanted an example, here you go...
