So as you all may or may not know, the human we see in the Trailer is not the main character. Now what if... Hear me out here. What if the trailer was just a crew member we control during a Strike Team Operation. The ME4 survey leak already confirmed that the new game would take place in the Andromeda Galaxy so tick that as confirmed and what the leak further reveals is that the ability to launch Strike Team Missions; now in the beginning of the Trailer we see a helmeted fellow selecting a variety of locations and picks out the Desert. Now according to the leak I say and I quote:
These missions will include a variety of thematically appropriate objectives, like defending a Settlement against Khet attacks, or recovering a Remnant artifact off of a planet before an outlaw gang gets there first.
It could be that what the Trailer was showing us was an example of a classic Strike Team Op would be like. Now some of you might be already be shaking your heads in disagreement but just consider it. Ideas and opinions in the comments.
P.S. Again this is just a theory. Not Bioware confirmed.
