What I am wondering is one how long after ME 3 it takes place. And if our protagonist and company left during the Reaper War and went into cryo for the journey (that would make alot of sense) or if maybe some reaper tech was used sometime down the road to get to Andromeda such as maybe finding the Citadel's counterpart in dark space and pointing it to Andromeda or for all we know maybe the Reapers reaped Andromeda from time to time as well.
So I have heard that this takes place long after the events of ME 3

If they sent a few thousand ark ships travelling at the speed that Council based speed it would be about 571 years in the future. If they moved at Reaper speeds, it would be about 230, according to what the codex says about FTL speeds and the distance away from Andromeda.

imma guess a few hundred years. Long enough for the wounds to heal....but not long enough for the scars to fade.
