Alien-Human "romance" is awkward, creepy and repugnant. Something like Vulkan-Human romance would be ok, but that is about it.

It not repugnant,creepy or anything. it a fantasy. Nobody is asking someone to have real sex with a bug faced aliens.  Just like anyone with a  healthy sex experience/life can make the distinction between adult entertainment and real life.  One is fantasy. One is not.

I personally find all the human romances absolutely boring or not appealing (and do I really need to remind people here how Jacob was handled... the poor femshep who romanced him, seriously, you girls have all my moral support) ...
