Complaint and Suggestion.

Why is it that the armor I have to pay for separately is worse, stat wise, than the stuff that comes with the original game?  In a game where it's stat based you can't get away with vanity armor, unless it can be worn in Skyhold (the pjs are boring).  If I have to pay for armor or weapons they must be equal or better than the stuff in the original game and/or the connected DLC (Jaws of Hakkon) in addition to looking amazing or it isn't worth buying.  However, if we could swap the appearance of armors that might make the price worth it for some people.

I think the price was a bit high but if it had included decent armor I probably wouldn't have cared too much. To be fair I really like the way the armor looks it just should have had the stats to match.  If Bioware wants to sell vanity items then do so, I enjoy those, but if you include usable ones makes them worth using at least by end/late game.  No one wants armor and weapons that get replaced in 5 minutes or less by something stupid, or items that are never worth using at all.

Is there any possibility that we'll get a vanity armor/weapon tool in game, like the black emporium.  So we could actually use the looks of cool armors/weapons and have the stats from the useful ones.  In my opinion this would enable the community to have greater variety in their games and help extend the life of Inquisition.

It would also be great if we could use some of the styles of our companions if their body types matched.  Like a human could use Cole and Blackwall's style or Cassandra and Vivienne's, an elf use Sera or Solas', dwarf use Varric's, and qunari use Iron Bull's.  Just a few more options for the inquisitor.  The armor appearances in game are way to limited, for the most part just the same three over and over again with exception of the race specific armors, and the crap ones you'll never wear.

I love this game and I think Bioware's work has proven they can do far better than worthless fancy looking armor.

Edit:  The new armor has fairly good defenses but no stats and cannot be upgraded, damage drops over 300 per hit on my mage.

I agree partially.

The new DLC armors are not better. They have higher armor ratings but cuts away stats and abilities in form of adding Constitution, Stamina, Magic, Willpower, Cunning and Dexterity. In general that means less power. I never use the Jaws of Hakkon armors. They are worse than the standard Superb versions. What's in a mage having high armor if it cuts his power and endurance?

But I do like the Avvar Armor from 'Spoils of the Avvar'. The mud design is cool. Primitive and savage looking. Just a pitty it can't be used near end game as the stats are too low.

agreed, this is not worth $5 dollars, especially since all mass effect weapon packs were only $2. The armor looks cool but it not enough for me to buy it

well there is also schematics not to mention you also pay for mounts and décor not just armor.

regardless, my issue with it is with the avvar armor model not being well adjusted for qunari. they seem too skinny not to mention not buffed enough, their hands look like human hands with it. so would be nice if bioware would fix this in future patch.

I mainly mentioned Jaws of Hakkon because you can get the Refined Schematics at Stone Bear Hold.  They aren't better than the Superb Schematics but they are close.  In that sense Jaws of Hakkon gave us something equivalent (ish), even if they were just using the old designs again.  However, I personally still use the Superb armor.

Indeed, the vanity items are pretty fun, if the pack were just those I would have no problem.  I wonder why they chose to put the armor and the schematics in this DLC since armor isn't a vanity item in this game.  Definitely wasn't the wisest choice on their part.  It would also be great if they fixed it for the qunari.

You're lucky it's $5 - in the UK it's £5 ($7.87) ... so it's even more of a rip off.

To be honest, I'll be waiting for an Inquisition GotY version to be released, and then buy it 2nd hand at a fraction of the price.

That might depend on the console, XBox cost me £3.99.
