Enjoy!  I'm going to give Kerbal Space Program a shot, since my vid card is here and will get installed this weekend.  Then, after I finish my current DA:I game, I'm going to fire up the new Wolfenstein games.  I've been a backseat player since my husband picked them up, but I'm going to check them out for myself.  The voice acting is really good, and the story is excellent.  I don't know how good I'll be at it, but I need to break out of my gaming comfort zone.

I'm not sure. I miss the old vets of the forum. Anyone remember AdmiralCheez's epic rants? Or a time when Vertigo used to handle tweets before handing off the duty to Hrungr? So many other old names, like RedJohn from MP, or OneTrueShot who would accurately predict all MP DLCs before they released.

Well... nowadays, everyone seems to be like; "Why to have any SP?", "No more alien romances!", "We should be the vilain!", "Don't do any romances at all!", "All I need is PVP!", "Do we need a plot?".
 

I can't believe my eyes. What happened to this community?

And people are asking, what is destroying the old BioWare. We souldn't be blaming just EA and look in the mirror instead.

I'm hoping that the mods and forum leads will start creating subforums next week, since E3 will be done and over with.  It's going to get too chaotic in here at this rate.  The weekend is upon us, so we're likely to see an even bigger explosion of threads around here.

Well thats why we need legitimate threads with legitimate subjects.

 

I made one to help teach people a thing or two about the actual Andromeda galaxy and that one's going well. Really well actually(OP is six likes from having the popular tag)

 

Then there's the honest to God question threads where people are unsure about something and they hope someone else has the answer. Suggestion threads can be solid or can be carried away.

 

The annoying ones are the MP vs SP things. We need subcategories to stop this.

They get paid in part to wade through this crap, so they have probably learned the difference.  At least with the very obvious troll threads.

See the biggest problem is with the new game. If they'd kept it in the Milky Way and say announced one of our mandatory squadmates would be Shepard's daughter with Liara, that would have easily started a war here. But they removed that by moving the story to Andromeda.

 

BTW that issue could still happen but it hasn't been announced, therefore the peace here is just temporary.

 

The other thing is that it depends upon the attitude the devs take. Do they take Anderson's attitude that if we get p1ssed off enough that they're doing their job? Or do they take a less confrontational position? I think they're taking a less confrontational position given the amount of nuclear bombs fired here in 2012-2013.

If by "SP" you mean singleplayer, then I do not agree. I only play video games for story. Multiplayer does very little for me. I actually really like alien romances. I do not want to be the vilain, but I do not want to be the good guy. I want to be a gray character. As for a plot, as long as the game still has a lot cutscenes, then I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

Well, hopefully the different fans don't rip each other to pieces.  At least most of the discussion has been comparing aspects of different games within the same series.  Yeah, I know I talked about the big TW3 thread being overall productive and civil.  That's the rare exception to that rule on this point.  While some of the arguments here are circular (which is not a huge deal,) it's within the same series.  I don't mind, because I can always bow out or click on another thread if a debate starts like as old as the ones around the endings.  I spent the majority of the first 10 months after I became fully active on the forums in Mage versus Templar debates, so circular arguments don't bother me, so long as they are interesting.

 

Also, speaking of debates, for the sake of mercy and sanity, could you guys please take the MP vs SP debates to the existing threads on the subject?  I'm not trying to imply I'm taking sides.   I am not trying to give anyone a hard time, nor am I trying to tell anyone to go away.  However, at least in here, would those involved with that debate please ease up on it on here or take it to PM or something?

Aw but I like all the MP vs SP threads. Quality jimmy rustling there. It's like all those garbage MP threads thrown into the forum garbage can (off-topic). Better than off-topic's previous highlights of bathroom selfies and SJW panic, at least.

Now I'm really glad I stay out Off-Topic.  If I want to read about things like that, I'll go hit up the Reddit default page on any given weekend.

To be fair, the bathroom selfies are just one guy (formerly three guys), the SJW panic has ebbed a bit, and regular people in off-topic often have just as strong an aversion to stepping into the DA/ME forums. Stigma all around!

Oh joy.  I can feel the love.  Truly, the BioWare community is a bastion of hope and togetherness.  

 

No I'm not surprised.  Although I'm glad to hear that the Sliced Juicy Watermelon panic has eased up some.
