Meh, even at it's worst this community isn't anywhere near as trying as pretty much any forum about martial arts.
And then BioWare announced Jade Empire 2, and the worst forum was born.
The complaining about better fighting styles and the debates over plot holes regarding individual fighter capabilities ... ugh. I feel disgusted by how obnoxious that would be already.
Don't forget the cries of, "Oh course JE2 is gonna suck. The real BioWare died after <game name of choice here.> EA ruins everything."
I've seen many a peep on the forums lately just here to sew discontent. I'm not sure why or what their reasoning is, I just no there are people on here (seemingly) just to be mean, or they're upset about something, or perhaps they are just jerks.
I don't really know, but the last few days have been the most negative I have seen on the forums.
Perhaps people are just talking to hear the heads rattle, but I think many people are unhappy in their own lives so they escape to gaming.
Gaming doesn't fix it, so blame the game.
Be angry.
Be insulting.
Be ridiculous.
I think some are just trying to make people as unhappy as they are, or as they are pretending to be.
Motivations are unclear in cyberspace, but I think suddenly there are tons of weeks popping up to pee in other people's Cheerios...(wait can weeds pee?)
Anyways, I'm super stoked. I needs more Mass Effect so I have a great deal to look forward to. I'll probably kill a lot of time on TW3 in the meantime.

The exact same thing happened to the Dragon Age forums at about this point in the development cycle. Sometimes, it's folks that have moved away from the games that are hearing about this and coming back for various reasons. Maybe because they are really passionate about the game series, maybe a little too much so. Maybe it's because hearing the name of the series brought back bad memories, and are kinda lashing out at the company and some of the more persistent fans as a result. A few are here just to talk smack and get people riled up. No good reason, other than sometimes people act like vulgar idiots online.
Things will mellow out some. Having subforums helped things calm down on the DA:I forums, so it will help too. One of the things I suggest to anyone is that if you feel someone is truly that toxic for you, use the ignore list. It's surprisingly to me some of the messages I've got from folks telling me that they feel almost bad if they put someone on ignore. Don't. Use it and enjoy a better forum experience. Life's too short to stress out what someone thinks about a video game forum. It's honestly one of the best features that was added due to the format change.
Well... nowadays, everyone seems to be like; "Why to have any SP?", "No more alien romances!", "We should be the vilain!", "Don't do any romances at all!", "All I need is PVP!", "Do we need a plot?".
I can't believe my eyes. What happened to this community?
And people are asking, what is destroying the old BioWare. We souldn't be blaming just EA and look in the mirror instead.
i disagree, by selling out to ea this is the crowd bioware attracted. they now hav to live in the filth that theyve created for themselves. :3
Nice try with the inflammatory remarks, but the judges give that a 2/10. The jump wasn't very original and you really didn't stick the landing.
I've been playing BioWare games since 1998. I've only missed Jade Empire and KotoR, and KotoR I'm going to give another shot (the graphics haven't aged well imho.) I own all of the DA games and DLC and all of the ME games and DLC, other than Omega.
In fact, I'd say the overwhelming majority of folks on the forums have played most if not all of BW's games. You did give me a hearty chuckle, which I always appreciate. So, thanks for stopping by and bumping the thread! Hopefully you'll learn to extract yourself from the "filth" you currently find yourself surrounded by. Have a good one.

I've found that reddit is usually the better fanbase oftentimes. /dragonage is a lot better too.
Did you expect the reception to be any different after ME3 gave us IT, hold the line, billboard campaign, etc etc?

I didn't own a computer at the time. I was broke and 25 years old. I had enough money to help pay rent on our apartment, groceries, and my husband would pick up PS2 games. That was pretty much it. There is some gaps in my PC gaming history in general due to lack of funds or a computer for a few years. <shrug>

Any game created by BioWare before 2009 is true BioWare. Now EA has her. And there is the downside. I liked BioWare when she was flying on her own. Now she’s got this thing secretly pulling the strings in the background I do not want to talk about. It is like ship navigation error.
biowares bottom line used to be the fans, profit and artistic integrity. each held up as its own pillar. now its cut content for dlc and corporate shilling.

I want to play it, but frankly I can't afford another game right now. My husband tossed me KSP because he had a Steam gift that he bought awhile back. I own KotoR. Buying a house is gonna tighten up our budget for awhile, so no new games for a bit. We felt lucky that we could budget in a new video card for me.
'Sides, our dryer just died. It's more to fix than to replace, so that's another expensive purchase. When it rains, ect ect.
