Fair enough.

I mean you are right, after ME3 the community went over the deep end, but I recall pages upon pages when ME2 was released about how they changed it and now it is ruined FOR EWAH!

Well this is a fair point, for a while this forum was ranked second worst in the world after NMA.  :D

I can't say the whole killing Shep and bringing him back to life thing impressed me, and it wasn't necessary for the plot to work. Collectors attack Normandy, Shep leaves in the last escape pod with Joker. Someone (like Jacob) from Cerberus approaches him after and says "Hey look. I know our history isn't so great, but come check out this planet, hear us out, and it's all good if you still want to go your own way afterwards". It needs more fleshing out than that, but the problem of connecting Shep to Cerberus without it seeming totally out of character is solved.

But yeah, I can imagine the overreaction.

Nothing. This is just the BSN people. Thankfully none of them are working on ME:A.

Pre-EA BioWare

Here is your fully dressed taco with a ice cold drink

Post-EA BioWare

Here is your taco shell with meet. But lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and others are DLC. Sauce comes in special packets. The ice cold drink only comes with a collectors edition. To get ice with the drink you need to pre-order, too.

More like:

Pre-EA Bioware: Here's your fully dressed taco with an ice cold drink

Post-EA Bioware: Here's your basic taco. If you want hot sauce pay extra uprfront and Ice cold drink is coming later.

Personally I don't think their DLC practices feel like they took out things from the main game. I just feel like a lot of it were added except for Javik's DLC which should've been in the base game or as a free patch. The basic game is just a tad too dry on launch but then in the way they used DLC for Mass Effect 2, especially it felt like they added on episodes as if the game was a TV show. At least that's what I always thought, and that was before the rave of Telltale episodic games.

David, like txgoldrush still here. Or rather he's back. He is now Baby Puncher.

Auld Wulf I don't think has ever returned, judging from the complete lack of threads detailing while Synthesis is the objectively best ending, and why everyone who chose Destroy loves genocide and turned Shepard into a war criminal.

I missed it? Damn.

Who was he?

There was someone who was posting pro-Synthesis threads on the ME3 boards for a bit, but I didn't think he was Auld Wulf, because his threads were a lot more tame. He didn't accuse anyone of FAPing to genocide because they like the Destroy ending.

His old account apparently got unbanned during the transfer but the mods fixed that after he returned

BioWare Sociopathy Network

Posted: 2013-03-10 - 13 comment(s) - 0 trackback(s)

Well, I'm done with it. There's nothing more I'm really allowed to say. It's not a bad thing, though. All the vitriol, bile, and general misanthropy there - all the boiling, bubbling hatred for anyone who has an opinion outside of the norm. If you don't hate the endings (Synthesis most of all) then you're going to be in for a hard time. There are just people there who want to "win" at everything, Destroy suits them because they feel that through killing, they win. It's a cowardly thing, really. To kill so that you might never be challenged again. All the knee-jerk and defensive reactions made that clear.

It's okay to kill the geth and EDI, and screw up Joker, because you "win" and nothing else matters. Nevermind Joker's debilitating illness and how he actually relies on EDI to cope. Anyone with a debilitating or terminal illness would welcome something like Synthesis, and yes, I may be talking about myself, here.

Still - first world, and your only concern is how you can get your sociopathic butt laid, then you can't exactly empathise with anyone who's ever suffered. It was a sobering experience realising just how many people have never suffered at all, and can't relate to that. Not even remotely.

I was hoping that there'd be more people around who'd see the positives of Synthesis - I'd love to talk to those people. As someone who suffers myself, I can definitely see the benefits of such a thing. And I can very much relate to Joker; the Citadel DLC made me sympathise with Joker even more, to realise how much Joker relied on EDI. Relying on people you love can make suffering and illnesses easy to deal with. So, for me, I couldn't be that evil to Joker. It just amazed me that so many people could just do the equivalent of kicking a disabled guy in the crotch, then repeatedly kicking him when he's down. Before taking a sewer key to his head.

This just isn't the place for me. There's just not enough humanity, here. It's worse than an Internet Mos Eisley. BioWare, what have you done?

Footnote: It's kind of telling when even 4chan, of all places, refers to the BSN as the BioWare Sociopathic Network.

Auld Wolf's blog

Destroyers are cowardly sociopathic killers who do the video game equivalent of kicking disabled people in the crotch! This is pure gold.

Bring him back Bioware.

Wouldn't worry about it.   Most of community will return once more information is released.   Right now, its just feeding ground for trolls mostly who post only to play on people's fears.

The community just fell into a spiral of negative habbits, but it has the chance of pulling itself together.

The possibility for positive change lies in everyone.

Meh, I've gotten used to a game's official forum being a cesspool of hate - this is relatively civilised and calm compared what is going on on the Bethesda forums.

I'm feeling pretty good not really caring about Mass Effect anymore. I'll watch the trailers for Andromeda, and there's a good chance I'm going to play it someday, but there is just no emotional involvement there at all. Which is okay, if a little sad. Same with Inquisition.
