While I'm happy with the 2 options in ME, I was wondering if we could have gay romance with aliens. We have lesbian romance with Liara and a bunch of alien romance among straight males and females. I'm hoping to see at least one option with an alien for the gay choices.

Just a philosophical standpoint, wouldn't aliens be more interested into interbreeding rather than just sex?  I mean that's all that will happen in gay romance is just sex...nothing (in a reproductive scene) will come from it.  Idk...idc...what aliens were you thinking of romancing? Krogans? lol seems like an ongoing joke in these forums.  A little bit of Wrex fever going around.

I'm all for a little LGBT alien sex!  My PC is always gay, and if we're stuck with being human...well I'm on Xenophobe in an RPG...rl might be a bit creeped out.

Except for Asari, all the alien romances can't reproduce. Mass Effect's aliens can't interbreed, even with Asari, the offspring is 100% Asari genetically. I always find Garrus to be pretty charming, and Tali is my favorite romance in ME2, so I wouldn't mind a male Turian or a male Quarian romance.

I don't think interbreeding is possible in ME, except for asari.

Seriously, I find it ridiculous that these non-human LIs use gender as the hurdle they're not willing to cross - something about Shepard's personality is attractive to them regardless, since Shepard's a human, Tali and Garrus both have an entirely different DNA base, and no matter how it works, because both parties are different species, the... "equipment" won't be a match... But apparently, because Shepard is identifying as a particular gender, they won't cross THAT line? It makes no sense to me.

 

So yes, bring on the alien LIs for either gender PC!

I wouldn't mind a romance with an Alien and there would be no 'Sex Scene' ...I romanced Samara and she turned my shepard down and I still count her as my primary chosen Li

@alienatedflea:  Well, the reality is that even in our modern times sex for procreation is becoming outmoded.  There's no real reason to require the "old fashion" form of procreation when other alternatives can ensure the species.

 

That being said, I am hoping there's at least one human gay option... cause I don't alien.

This is why I ddont get the whole asari + non-asari pairs would lead only to asari kids point. We could easily have in-vitro or surrogate human children.

I prefer the squadmates and crew and characters at large to be written organically and have the chips fall where they may, however unlikely that may be (not that I'm not hoping there's homosexual options for my male character), but I agree with dgcatanisiri that when it comes to aliens, I can't really comprehend the gender distinction. I'm not sure how to articulate it, since there's no precedent for this circumstance in real life (in terms of intelligent life with the ability to consent), but I don't understand where orientation would come into play when the supposed partner is already so physiologically different that neither gender translates into your binary beyond "this is the one that births".

I dunno, it seems to me that adoption or surrogacy is no different from that scenario but I very admittedly do not want or understand the drive to have children.

I don`t see why not; there can`t be children produced from human-alien intercourse (Asari excepted) anyway, so its not like there`s any kind of biological imperative in order for there to be romance.

Garrus is my favorite romance with my Shepard, I don't really mind that there wasn't a sex scene like Liara had. I always pictured my Shepard to have a platonic love for Garrus anyways.

Thane and Shepard had a few kisses and hugs, I would love to have more of that with new aliens, especially male characters.
