I counter your obligatory meme with another obligatory meme.

Apparently you are not familiar with Gavorn's tricks. :)

I was being facetious, but I assume you are referring to Captain Preitor Gavorn in ME2 with his brief video from LotSB?

We never actually see anything happen, so we can only surmise what actually happened. All we see is a human male moving towards him while he's sitting on a bed. I'm not suggesting what you are assuming didn't happen, but that's not exactly definitive proof either. I'm sure MEA will take it a step further though.

I just want to know, out of all the compelling vids the SB has, why the focus on this unknown male human with Gavorn...in his boudoir. If it had been a unknown female human, i'm pretty sure everyone would assume some sex was gonna happen.

If anything gay had been shown though, there may have been backlash, or at least that is what BioWare may have feared at the time. After Iron Bull, anything is game, except krogans...no...no no no  no!

Well the reason I'm not so quick to judgment is because of the attire of human male is wearing. He seems far too official if it's just a romantic encounter. They honestly could be conducting some sort of illegal business rather than anything intimate. It is Omega, after all, and Aria has eyes everywhere. I'm just saying it's not entirely clear what happened, but it seems to suggest he is probably homosexual.

I'm not sure if BioWare was fearful to breach the subject as much as not knowing how to approach romance scenes. Turians have somewhat of an awkward anatomy, so perhaps that could have been the reasoning BioWare avoided it up until this point. Perhaps they didn't think they could do a good enough job with the resources and engine they had at the time.

Iron Bull is essentially just a large human. It's certainly much easier for BioWare to do romance scenes between humans, dwarves, elves, and qunari, as they are all humanoids. With aliens, especially the more exotic looking ones, it's more of an issue from an animation standpoint. But since we are dealing with Frostbite 3 and BioWare's animation work has improved, they should have a lot more flexibility.

What's wrong with a krogan? That might be more fun than you think.

The more people say no to the idea of gay krogan romance, the more that I secretly hope it happens.  It's unlikely, but I can keep hoping, right?

I don't really want male krogan romance- it'll probably be similar to IB romance, because of their aggressive nature (like someone pointed out earlier.)... I hate stuff like that and it makes me wanna throw up. Also, BioWare shouldn't repeat things they've done. And I just want something normal.

If they've got an idea to make it totally different to IB- I'm okay with this, but still prefer turian/quarian/drell.

Asari can't be lesbian they are omnisexual monogender parasite who have sex with everyone. It's like Cptain Jack harkness, except he is human.

All asaris are pretty much pansexuals since they are monogendered and mate with everyone, "gender" has no meaning to them at all(Liara and even other asari state this themselves).

So I doubt we will ever get specific kind of asari that swings just one way. Sure we might get one with preference like Aria who prefers females over guys, but still doubt we will get specific heterosexual/ homosexual asari in here.

As for lesbian turian, now I'm on the boat for that one

I think its more interesting if there's a gay fertile female krogan. Running away to another galaxy because she want to escape men trying to pressure her to reproduce. That's a nightmare situation there.

On one hand, I think this might be interesting because it would finally give a butch lesbian character (assuming you aren't talking about a lipstick lesbian krogan lady....).  On the other hand, it falls a little close to Dorian's storyline in DA:I.  We just had a gay character who's storyline was closely connected to his rejection of the status quo in relation to breeding.  And while I didn't have a problem with it, I know that a lot of people thought it was a little cliche.  I'd like to see them veer away from that a bit.  Although I will say that none of the other gay Bioware characters (and there are only 4 others) really fell too close to gay tropes.  So I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world if it happened again.

What would be next? Gaylienpedo romance?

Why would that be next?  Because no one has brought that up except for you.  Is that what you want?

Yeah, the female Krogan would basically be a female Dorian with that kind of storyline again. Maybe Eve's father comes in, so they could have a warm PA about gay acceptance as well. They ruined Thedas with that kind of craps, so I hope they don't bring it to ME since they already have shown that gays in ME universe is being treated as everyone else, and no one was surprised when Cortez was married, not even questioning it like how they jam it in with Krem and Dorian, introducing intolerance while trying to fight off intolerance is just a bit ironic to be honest. I don't dislike Dorian simply because he's a cliche, it is because they unnecessarily introduce a discrimination element into the universe while trying to create a tolerance world.

Quarian would be cool, I guess, maybe if he's a bit of a jerk or something, I wouldn't mind. I'm a bit of a fan of a jerk with a heart of gold, but a cool and funny guy wouldn't hurt. I wouldn't want another yes man like Garrus, but a cool and funny Quarian wouldn't hurt.

Probably some feeble attempt to equate all gay men with pedos, while ignoring that there are some men, who identify as being sexually attracted to females, that are particularly attracted to females under the age of 12. And I have yet to see any study that says gay men are more predisposed to such.

I read somewhere a while ago that Thane was supposed to be a bi LI in ME2, but got cut like Kaidan. So that's what I'd like to see as a male gaylien romance: a bi drell, either a vanguard or an adept. As for the bi female, an asari would do for me.

Did he? They said that they make Thane specifically to appeal to the female players. I find it strange that they would make them available to gay guys, Mass Effect team doesn't care about gay people, so it's very doubtful that it's true. Is that based on some quotes male Shepard can get modded to say or something?

I don't remember exactly but my guess is that it was scrapped early in development as they were afraid or criticism. But he would've been most likely a "straight except for you" character, much like Sky (or Kaidan).

And yet, they have Kelly and a bunch of Asari you can flirt and have sex with as females, but Kelly and Asaris are not real lesbians, so they don't count   . I don't think Thane was an option since they were created specifically to appeal toward females. I haven't seen any quote from the developers, at least, just speculation since modded Shepard may have some lines recorded for Thane but the scenes are mostly muted. Imported male Shepard can also have certain female Shepard lines recorded with Kaidan in Mass Effect 3, too, I wouldn't read too much into it.

If BioWare didn't "care about gay people," they would never bother investing resources or time into incorporating lesbian or gay romances like Liara, Traynor, Cortez, Alenko, etc. I shouldn't have to mention all the gay romance options in the Dragon Age franchise. Everybody would just be straight, like pretty much all other video game romances in the industry. Would that mean that BioWare hates gay people in that scenario? How exactly would BioWare begin to care? Do all companions have to be gay?

Yeah, it was most likely just a rumour. Still, a bi Thane would've been cool (I'd even take him over Kaidan).

When have I said Bioware doesn't care? I said ME team didn't care. Notice the word "didn't" and "ME team". Dragon Age team and Mass Effect team based on different locations and they develop games separately. You can tell the treatment between the two teams. Lesbian romance like Asari, is it for straight guys or is it for lesbians? Kaidan was a copy and paste inferior version from female Shepard while Cortez is basically an NPC. I see it as pressure from the higher up and fans to include it rather than effort from them wanting to include it. They have a different team now, so I don't hold anything against ME until I see the product.

I would TOTALLY trade Alenko and Liara (and Cortez and Traynor) for Thane and Samara (as a full LI) as the bi romances.
