Those romances wouldn't change if they're available to males. Maybe the reason why these romances stand out because the perception of these romances are only available to female. I don't remember the last time a gay romance is even sappy or romantic like that. Solas specifically was avoided because they don't want to make a deprived bisexual, something I honestly don't see since he's more misguided than outright evil, and there are other options to balance him out even if he's just pure evil. 

 

I have an honest question for you:  Do you feel that a bisexual romance has to have different content for the male PC and the female PC?  Are there any circumstances where you feel it's okay for the romance content to be the same for both males and females?

But I recognize you in other threads, like targeting one line of romance even when the majority of my posts are about something else. It says more about you than me, really. You should focus on things you like instead of jumping into threads you don't like to start drama and insulting people.

And I'm gonna disagree, gated romances are often better than the ones that aren't.  Solas's and Cullen's are usually brought up as the standout romances, both are restricted.

And ...?

Fangirls (and maybe some boys) have been gushing over Cullen since DA:O. As I understand it, Solas has a pretty big role in events to come - so the notion that those 2 romances were well-received is kinda not the surprise.

Do you have any evidence that their exclusive nature has anything to do with it?
 

But on a more meta level I prefer it because sexuality is not something that can be cut off firmly from all other traits of someone's personality it informs and is informed by a person's other experiences and personality.

In a world where genders and sexualities are not treated equally, you may have a point. In a world where sexism, gender-ism, orientation bias is absent or minimal, I'm hard-pressed to see what real difference it would make in who someone is or becomes.

Aveline is Aveline, whether I assume her to be straight, bi, pan, or something else entirely.

I don't really care about contents being different or the same. The main things for me would be for contents to be equal and not cut and for the bisexual options to comment on guys and girls equally instead of just girls which seem to be the default whenever there is a bisexual character.

What? I don't think I ever interacted with you until now. Yes, when it comes to those bait romance threads, I am there, so? I never have seen you make one, maybe you should stop making drama instead of defending a poster who wants to denominate people's orientations.

The romances I've been disappointed I couldn't pursue are for my female characters. Ashley for Femshep and Cassandra for Femquisitor. 

 

Ah, yes. I forgot to mention Cassandra. I was and still am deeply disappointed by her gender gating. I probably would've made that my canon since I hate all the options for my guys.

 

I could get on board with him carving a toy because it's more practical than flowers and show that he has a skill. If he just found it in a field or something, I'd be like "Why are you giving someone else's garbage?"

This wasn't to me but as a gender neutral person I actually appreciate gender neutral relationships...
