So a person exhibiting characteristics that are connotated with femininity are worse than people who assault and murder kids?

Additionally, Biotic Apostate's statement can be said to imply that they do not care for your claim about with whom the responsibility lies. I, for one, do not.

Bah, this is not the thread for this so this line of discussion should be dropped.

Honestly, the things I read here. Violent murdering homophobes are not as bad as feminine gay men, and hate crimes wouldn't happen, if all gay men behaved according to what some bigots think men should look like? jfc, this place is toxic.

The female Asari is almost certainly at this point to be the one in the trailer. She seems to be a happy go lucky character with a cheerful demeanor, so I would peg her as a rogue kind of character. It's likely that the Asari would be biotic or infiltrator instead of head-on soldier. I wouldn't mind someone like Triss being the other option, but it's likely to be Korra.

Will every race from the previous game make an appearance in this game? It's obvious that popular and original race like Turian and Asari would be back but others like Quarian and Geth may be less likely.

I perfectly understand the fascination with the Turian warrior culture, but Asari and Drell are my favourites.

Since Liara was such a big part of the original trilogy, I'd actually prefer it if the Asari squad mate wasn't a LI.

A female Turian would be very interesting.

Well, I know some bi and straight guys that are more on the feminine side. I wouldn't call it a gay issue but a behavioral issues for people who are not into the heteronormative behaviors. being gay is just about liking other guys, not calling each other female dogs and snap your fingers, hobbies and mannerisms are more on personal interest and individualism. Still, no one should be killed or attacked based on their behaviors and their lifestyle choices. With that being said, I would rather not talk about such serious topic here. I don't want to give the mods any reason to lock the thread.

I wonder if they would have a female and male counterpart for all the races. I doubt turian would suddenly change from all males to all females if they just use one model.

I think the 'ark ships to escape the Reapers' theory has been given a serious shot in the arm from the trailer they showed at E3, in which case it makes absolutely no sense to only include one of multiple genders on the last hope for your civilization's survival. Not to mention fan riots would probably ensue if, after only getting female turians in ME3's DLC, they went back to only male turians for Andromeda. At least the krogan and salarians utilize practically identitcal models.

Also it'd be really neat if this asari wasn't a LI, though I won't hold my breath. I mean, it'd be a great opportunity to genuinely build their society and culture, explore gender identity from a species that had no concept of gender as we understand it until meeting aliens. But I'll also admit, I'm not sure I trust a story like that with someone who doesn't consider it their personal story, so it might be better if they stay away from it all the same.

What I don't like is feminine gays.

There's a difference between not personally caring for feminine gays, and believing that men (gay or not) who display feminine traits are somehow damaging to all gay men as a whole. Damaging stereotypes are one thing, but everyone, men and women, should be free to express themselves however they want to, because it's the existence of the STEROTYPE, not the trait itself, that is the problem.

I called Dorian a "shady queen" because he's proud, he's strong, and he remains playfully undaunted in the face of darkness and despair. He's also heroic, he's kind, and he would give you the shirt off his back. I don't know how you define a Queen, but if I'm remembering my days as a San Francisco college student properly, Queens rule, and Dorian definitely does that.

If I accidentally said something offensive, I apologize for hurting you.

Back to the topic of gay aliens, since the Asari are apparently considered attractive by everyone accross all lines of race and gender, it seems to be only the gay alien MALES that apparently don't exist. I know the argument goes that Asari only have one gender so they aren't REALLY female... but that's a pretty weak justification.

A Drell romanceable by any gender would be cool, but of course he must NOT have any sort of Carth syndrome like Thane (make no mistake I love Carth but said trait should be his only).

Finally I find someone who says this. That community loves their stereotypes and their drag queens. Because of them everyone thinks all gay dudes are queens and paraphilic nymphos. Whenever a gay kid gets assaulted or killed, that blood is in their hands.

Who said a word about hypermasculine jocks? What I don't like is feminine gays.

I don't make anyone's life hard, lol, if someone is the embodiment of what homophobes say all gay men are, they can go defend themselves, 'cause I'm definetly not going to. Now THOSE walking, talking stereotypes are who make life hard to those who want nothing to do with them.

The ones that inspire it are even worse that those who do it.

Still you haven't said if you care or not, that says everything really.

Agreed. I already said my piece. Now to the gay alien stuff.

This is some of the grossest behavior I've seen on BSN. Congratulations on that.  First you say that the blood of murder victims is on the hands of feminine gay men.  Then you say that feminine gay men are "even worse" than those who murder gay men.  Then you have the audacity to say, "Well I've said what I want to say, back to being on-topic!"  Seriously, when this stuff is allowed to happen here.......

I'll take that as a compliment.

This thread is about gay aliens though. If Drell don't show up, then I think a Turian Vanguard should be in order.

im all for Gayliens.

I personally really would like a drell (Bi so that I could romance him as my preferred gender female, but would definitely roll male if necessary.) but I know that a lot of people would like Turian... I just want everyone to be happy TBH. I know a lot of people dislike the all Bi thing, but Id be down with it for equal options and no one losing out on what they really wanted .

That being said, I have a question for the Gaylien thread-- Would you be okay with all Bi LIs? Are do you want at least one exclusively homosexual character of either gender?

Just curious and I'm more than sure they'll never go back to All Bi.

I don't want all BI because I want things exclusive to the gender you chose. And if it is all BI or close to that (see DA2), I want the romances to be at least a little different depending on which gender you are romancing an LI as, so it's not copy and paste.

And as far as representation goes if that an issue, all BI means exclusively homosexual is off the table as you mentioned.

The all romanceable by any gender system is the best option IMO, as long as there are no more than 4 LIs, yes not gonna happen but I'd definetly prefer it.

Those are both fair answers. I do like the representations for homosexuality as wel, my only reasoning for wanting all bi would solely be to make sure everyone could romance their preferred character as their preferred gender.

I do agree if they did went all bi, that the romance should include something different pergender rather than be a copy paste, essentially.

I see the pro and con on both side. Bi is just a lazy way out and everyone reacts the same to you regardless of your gender. Fire Emblem in Japan has an entire different scene play out for Niles depending on your gender. I would want some acknowledgement and how they react to males and females, because how people interact with guys and girls may be different whether they're bi or not. It's not about sexism, but there are "bro" moments and male bonding when meeting at first while the guys may try to impress the girls when they first meet. Treating the protagonist as a cardboard regardless of gender is just lazy and if it's true that they would use the same resource if everyone is bi, then they should also have different scenes and interactions.

The con of orientation is basically having them fall into stereotypes. We may have characters like Dorian which has his arc about a gay conversion storyline, his personality is being stereotyped as high fashion, gay angst. Even NPCs like Krem basically make the Inquisitor to be ignorance so that Iron Bull could preach to them about tolerance. Subtlety is not Bioware's strong suit, it seems. Orientation is fine, but they focus too much on the sexual orientation instead of characters that happen to be gay. They are also either subconsciously or consciously make certain archetypes to be more common with the stereotype, the stereotypical everyday guys like Kaidan, Cullen, and Alistair are straight, while the bisexual options are often promiscuous. You don't often see these kind of characters being thought as gay or bi straight out the gate. I would be surprised if a character like Danse or Cullen is gay in Mass Effect 4, to be honest.

Well, in ME we've had non-stereotyped men interested in men, so I don't worry about it in this franchise (they can still **** it up though, that's why I prefer all bi). I'm pretty much done with DA though.

I doubt ME would even have gay options if it wasn't for Dragon Age pioneering them. Now, while it may not be perfect, I appreciate DA open the door for more gay options in other games. I hope they get the feedback on the forum and give us better gay options for DA games the next time instead of a promiscuous BDSM bisexual guy and a fashion conscious gay angst guy. Just once, give us something vanilla and "boring" like Kaidan or Cullen.

Definetly better "boring" but normal characters like Esteban or Alenko than bondage lovers/queens.

@Jedi Comedian- I can't tell if you're sick, stupid or just plain evil that you would condone the slaughter of innocent gay men because they don't live up to your idea of the masculine ideal but I do know I'm done engaging with you and this thread. I know there are gay/bi men like you out there but witnessing you spout off the same of the same bullsh-t over and over while everyone pretends you are not the worst kind of human makes me want to vomit.

And I hope dev will stop to listen to people in this thread and finally focus on actual gameplay, story and balance instead of turning every damn game in date simulator. I mean look at this, ME:A just got second trailer and we have 50 pages thread on forum about possible LI in the upcoming game. This is just sick. You are looking not for a good story or interesting gameplay but possible LI in the game 0_o I wish BioFail writer spend more time on story plot for Andromeda instead of listening to this thread and writting up LI scenes. Sigh...
