Laura Bailey might be good as the Asari squaddie.

 

Of course it depends on the character too. She'd be more fitting for a maiden or a matron than a matriarch.

Even though I'm pretty sure the comparison is an insult to Jeff Bridges and the character of CLU, there are similarities.

The difference is that CLU made sense, even though he was wrong, the flaws in his programming were acknowledged, he wasn't introduced at the last minute and he was defeated in a way that was satisfactory and again made sense. Also he's played by Jeff Bridges

 

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, she only has one voice.

 

But goddamn if that voice isn't perfectly suited to the sort of character I like to play the most. She pulls off "weary sarcasm" so well.

Granted it looks like most of the roles where she sounds totally different is anime crap I wouldn't watch, but whatever. Also the voice we know best (Serana, Kira) isn't her actual voice:

I have no reason to believe she wouldn't be great in all sorts of roles, but I've never seen any of her anime work (or anything outside of games, for that matter). The whole reason I hold her in such high esteem is for her work as Serana, Kira, and the Boss. I just love those performances to pieces.

nvm, thought you meant MGS3's The Boss. I would've kicked myself all the way home and started playing it right away if that was the case.

If you haven't played Saints Row 3 or 4 (and assuming that sort of game is one that you'd enjoy), I'd highly recommend them both. Her performance is hilarious. The games themselves are hilarious, full stop, but that's what made me love her so much.

Was thinking of getting into that series but I have a sizable GTA backlog as it is so picking up another sandbox series may not happen right away. That and I'm not sure if Saints Row 3 has optimization problems but it was running slideshow mode on my buddy's comp, and his is a beast compared to mine. Might be getting a new rig soon so that point may be moot.

 

I'd check out Saints Row 4 for President Keith David anyway, so having Laura Bailey as well would just make me get there faster

I think the games are as different from GTA as can be while occupying the same genre. But you can safely start at 3 (4 is a direct sequel to that, and 2 is super wonky on the PC - plus no LB). I haven't even actually played the first game in the series.

 

The games ran well for me on two different builds, but that's PC gaming.

I love Jorge. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing a character similar to him in Andromeda. Dameon Clarke is also great.

I truly never see the point in Character "Movie" actors voicing Game characters.

Did you ever watch "The Bee " movie with Gerry Sienfield voicing the main character.

Good kids movie, (I have 2) but everytime the bee opened his mouth I saw Gerry Sienfeld. I like Gerry and I like his show..., but leave the voice acting to the voice actors..., or better still, give a newby a chance to be a legend and save the money for something important ingame. My 2c worth.

Also I loved Ashley Johnson as Ellie in TLOU, and I'd totally love to see her in ME.

The voice actors of Dorian (Ramon Tikaram) and Cass (Miranda Raison) from DAI also were some of my favs. Wouldn't say no to that
