I would give my right arm to have the player character voiced by Jeremy Brett's, but alas... if he had ever gotten to be a voice actor, he would have been even more of a legend.
Also you wouldn't have to chose between manly badass and classy gentleman.

Oh man oh man the thought of that is beyond exciting I don't care what anyone says his voice acting in Oblivion was great and with a greater level of voice acting experience it could be epic. He'd be great as an Admiral or as the father as the player or on a lower role it would be fun to talk to him as the navigator, XO or whatever of the ship.
I can kinda imagine Chris Hemsworth in the role of a soldier or combat based companion but that's not really an epic level like Patrick Stewart. Leonard Nimoy would've been great I still love his CIV 4 voice acting it just made the game for me but obviously his passing. So I guess my suggestion would be Jeff Bridges everone might know him as "The Dude" but his roles as father figures and as a wise man in recent films would perfectly translate to voice acting in Mass Effect maybe as an auxilarly crew member or what I'd find more appropriate as an Admiral, another ships CO, some form of a military leader.
Edit: Actually I wouldn't mind the inclusion of Benedict Cumberbatch he's done voice acting and he really gets into it as if he was acting in front of a camera, plus he's got an epic voice and is a great actor who could fufill so many roles.
She's probably going to get raped and killed in the next season of Game of Thrones anyway so Bioware might as well get her while she's available.

Otherwise I'd also want to see Sam Witwer. He's good with voice acting. Also Sam Worthington. That guy needs more badass roles (or roles in general)

I am really just craving a "classy" protagonist again for a change.
Daring, capable, willing to roll up their sleeve & jump in the mud; yet also with a certain dapperness; as well as a prowess from more than just the mooks they've killed along the trail. Someone who is not constantly either annoyed and/or overwhelmed by the slightest brain work - i.e. the necessity for the obligatory "nerdy" character (who's also routinely ridiculed for the fact that he knows sh*t) to read their books for them.

I just thought of a good one for a villain. Rob Lowe. While he's done only a few out and outright villains, he's been good for a long time at playing slimy/smirking characters. I'm not going to ask for someone exactly like TIM. Jack was an excellent villain overall, and probably the only reason why I can stand the Cerberus arc in ME3. However, I think another rather cold and pragmatic villain/anti-hero would be welcome, and I honestly think Rob Lowe could do a great job with it.
