Morgan Freeman, as a mentor.
He has the voice and tonal delivery that would, imo, suit quite well in that role, having played a few of them in the movies.
Avoid
The American voice actor that played Bull.

A few? Honestly, I think Morgan Freeman is way overused. A great actor for sure, but such an unimaginative choice by now. ![]()

Betty and Cameron may be well suited for a humorous side role but as the main combat / squad leader?
Linda played well in the Terminator #2. Pierce I'd go for as well.

Now some games have really baffling casting decisions when it comes to celebrity voice actors (like Dishonored - why would you cast Carrie Fisher as someone like "Alternate Street Speaker" ?) but I thought Bioware did a great job using theirs, so I actually wouldn't mind them using more.
Iain Glen from Game of Thrones has a great voice, and Annie Wersching (24, Castle) did a stellar job as Tess in The Last of Us so they have my vote.
Avoid
The American voice actor that played Bull.
He was already Vega in ME3, I doubt they'd re-use on yet another companion.

if you want good voice actors, hire REAL VOICE ACTORS not the glamqueens and sex idols of hollywood.
I agree, Keith David, Martin Sheen, Carrie-Anne Moss, Lance Henriksen, Yvonne Strahovski, Freddie Prinze Jr., Adam Baldwin, and Tim Curry totally sucked as voice actors ![]()

That would mean turning subtitles on.

As for as Hollywood stars go, Eva Green would be god tier casting. It would probably never happen, but it would be awesome. She's great in nearly everything she's in.
YES. I came in this thread specifically to post her. She's never done any voice acting work, but I love listening to her.
For a male actor, I'd like Zachary Levi. He made Arcade Gannon in Fallout New Vegas so great.

Liam Neeson - he'd lend his voice perfectly to the Mass Effect universe.

Laura Bailey always. She was great as Lieutenant Kurin in ME3.
Chris Hardwick. He's really good as Vaughn in Telltales' Tales from the Borderlands.
Troy Baker and Nolan North have proven themselves pretty versatile.
Adam Harrington has a distinct gravelly voice that he can somehow make sound different depending on who he's playing. For example, Bigby and the Woodsman in the Wolf Among Us. It's pretty funny watching him basically talk to himself.
Yeah, these guys are Telltale games staples, but 90 percent of those games are dialogue so...

Waste less money on them, more money on cutscenes, writing, branching narrative and everything else.

No thanks.
I prefer voice actors who put in effort. Not celebrities who only care about getting their paycheck and deliver a bland, forgettable parody of a performance (like martin sheen and lance henriksen in ME2).
Use the money on something more productive. You can't pay big stars enough to care, anyway. They're only useful as sleazy marketing ploys to attract fanboys. Nothing more.

Some celebrities I'd like to see (hear) in Mass Effect, with samples:
Malcolm Mcdowell and Jason Isaacs as villains. Jon Voight as a mentor kind of guy, like Anderson (maybe the older N7 guy from the trailer?).
Jensen Ackles as male american accent protag and Charlize Theron as female american accent protag. Michael Fassbender as male british accent protag, Emily Blunt or Natalie Dormer as female british accent protag.
Ray Winstone as a Krogan companion, Annie Wersching as an Asari companion, Charlie Hunnam as a Turian companion.

If Liam Neeson is added to the cast he needs to have a scene where he gets angry and rants. His angry rants are always epic.

Well, certainly we shouldn't be using those guys as protagonists, but seriously, this game needs George Takei.
Here's Conan's opinion of George's voice.
Here's George reading Fifty Shades of Grey.
He'd be perfect as some aged admiral or some such.
No Mass Effect needs Kevin Spacey as the new "Anderson"

I must I admit I have a huge crush on Jennifer Hale.
I'd like to see both Hale & Meer brought back for voice work, though not for the protagonist. They could voice aliens though, particularly ones that use the voice filters.

Martin Sheen just voiced Martin Sheen. There isn't a lot of performance there.
