Celebrity VA are all drama. Anyone else thinks that Bioware should focus on good and affordable VA first?

I keep seeing people say this but I don't think any of you understand how any of this works. How much do you think a B-list celebrity like Carrie Anne Moss or Martin Sheen costs? How much do you think additional employees get paid? Hiring cheap VAs for a few roles instead known actors does not add up to such a savings that they can magically make the game better. New artists, animators, etc make good salaries. Cheaping out on the voice acting would maybe allow them one or two more employees on a team that's already like 300+ deep. Why do you think games are so expensive to make these days? Because Martin Sheen demands $5,000,000? Use your brains. They need the exercise.

He was great as Vega. The only issue I'd have with him is that his voice is very recognizable. Even the Iron Bull had moments where it sounded like Vega.

 

I'd be all for him returning as VA. Besides turning in a solid performance in ME3 he also seems to be one of the better actors to work, without the 'video games are beneath me and I'm just cashing in' attitude that some of them have. But if he returned I'd rather he voiced a Turian or a Drell than a human, so the character doesn't sound too much like Vega.

If easy comparisons weren't going to be drawn to Mordin, I'd say Goldblum would make a really fun salarian scientist.

I know they've said that these games are going to be completely separate from Shepard's story, but it's not like Shepard occupied 100% of Anderson's time and energy.

Like some of people's ideas for voice actors that would be interesting...

 

For males...

Seth McFarlane... not in his natural voice, but not an intentionally funny voice.

David Lee Roth... a minor cameo-type role as a smart-mouthed bartender or something that chats up his customers.

Sean Connery... mentor role or major villain

Pauly Shore... Joker (Seth Green) type role

Eric Idle... maybe as a Salarian squadmate

Mark Hammil... as ship's AI maybe?

Waler Koenig... possibly a Turian squadmate (female love interest)

Michael Biehn... male protagonist

Bill Paxton... human squadmate (female love interest)

Malcolm McDowell... major villain or ship's doctor

 

For female voice acting...

Sarah Gellar... female protagonist

Mila Jovovich... Quarian squadmate (male love interest)

Jenette Goldstein... human squadmate (male love interest)

Carrie Fisher... minor Admiral or political figure

Elisabeth Shue... Asari squadmate or NPC

 

And none of these names are likely to be ridiculously expensive except maybe Connery (who would be a longshot anyway).
