Steam's just informed me that they don't provide a manual, and that's the apparent extent of the help they're offering.

I've just reached the first datapad in the Tutorial, and I'm given only minimal instructions as to how to play the mini-game.  I've learned how to move to the correct code-string, but how do I "select" it, as I was told to do?

ASDW to move the cursor around, and Space to select. Yeah, it really wasn't clear at all and I failed a few times before I finally found the right keys via trial and error.

Good luck!

It would be really nice if Digital copies had a manual. Many games do. Apparently this one doesn't. It makes it a bit harder when you come up to things like hacking or planet scanning and just have to guess what the heck to do.

why doesn't Bio Ware offer a PDF manual for this game? I found one for the first mass effect.

Yeah, I had to puzzle everything out on my first playthrough with my digital copy. It was annoying.

I still have this feeling that I'm overlooking something... like there should be a button that just has EDI probe all mineral deposits of a certain size on the planet scanner... but that's probably just my nagging sense of logic.

No, EDI will not do the job she should be doing.

Why is trying stuff until you figure it out so complicated? Oh no you failed a couple times trying to learn something. Did the extra 15 calories you spent thinking about how to play the mini game really mean that much to you? Is it physically painful to think about stuff?

Its not that i can't try it out until i get it i'm not haveing alot of problems or anything but I would like to know if i'm overlooking something in the game. an example being if I didn't read the forums i wouldn't have known how to import my ME1 character.

Just move the cursor around with the WASD keys and then select the chunk of code that matches whatever it displays at the top.

Also, it sounds like you're new to the game, you should really stay out of this board in particular, since spoilers are everywhere, even on thread titles.

Yeah the down part of using Steam is you go into the game blind. I had no idea about planet scanning, hacking or any of it, lol.

*facepalm*

Haven't used a manual since like the 90's. When they had color and pretty pictures.
