The desire demons were one of my favorite things from Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2. The have this very feminine sensuality to them. I especially like the interaction in Origins. I was really hoping to see them in DA:I but nope. Was this a development decision? Did someone deem them to be too sexy?

What I was hoping to see was a story / follower involving them. Something with an option to have one as a follower, or a lover, one that would make frequent "visits", or even just an option to give into one.

With all the talk about the Fade, I had this image of the Inquisitor being dropped into the Fade and surrounded by demons. Then some desire demons arrive and give him/her an easy out. Maybe have some corruption angle to the story or other interactions. Having a desire demon intrude on a romance would be interesting too.

But my point is, it feels that by not including them, something large was left out. I'm not generally disappointed about the lack of a certain set of npc's, but I was this time.

I feel your pain. ;)

It's a mystery.. I don't know why they weren't featured in this game. But I sure as hell missed them.

Alternatively, there is a "choice spirit" named Imshael or Ishmael (can't remember which one it was) who is supposedly a desire demon, but not the type of "desire demon" I prefer. Imshael/Ishmael can be seen in Empruse Di Lion (did I get that wrong as well?) Meh, been a long time since I played. :P

Perhaps, but I never saw one. Every time I went into the room, heard "Connor! Noooooo!" but didn't see anything.

Ogre thinks that desire demons are best demons.

Desire demons have always been the demon version of cannon fodder. Now Sloth, that is a real demon =). Anyway, Imshael in Emprise is a desire demon.

Desire Demons are pretty neat, but I've become a huge fan of Envy.  Now that's a proactive group of demons.

Edit: The OP and their topics seem rather familiar.  Hmmm....

Canon fodder? No, those were shades or rage demons. In DAO and DA 2, they were pretty high forms. They're considered second after Pride demons, which should not have been used as trash for rifts...blech

Yeah, you're right. I sort of ignored those two =)

Envy would have been my favorite too if the writer didn't cave and continued with his original idea of pulling a curveball with the inquisitor.

I liked the male Desire Demon (Choice Spirit). He was too funny to kill, but I did it anyways, because... he's seriously evil!

Of all the things the game offers in way of plot, lore, and potential what-next story.... a person's biggest concern is desire demons?

Yeah, we ain't never been here before.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they're getting revamped in the story (as in, since they're usually among the top tiers of badass demons, they'd probably have more insidious and chaotic things to do than poke at our PC...or something like that).

It'd be really interesting if we could have a desire demon offer us something truly substantial in future titles. Like if an NPC dies, and they offer to bring them back, for a 'small' price. There are obviously better ideas, but I'm coming from an angle where I've just never really been all that interested in what they've offered in the past ("Money...? But I already have lots of gold...and I'm already pretty overpowered...alright back to the Fade you go!")

And I wouldn't mind seeing some male ones too :P pretty demons for everyone!

No, ishmael is a really crappy demon who offers nothing of value and turn into recycled rift demons when angry,

A male desire demon and they didn't even bother giving him a unique form.

At least in origins I could learn the secrets of blood magic or make enough gold for a skill book (which were fairly rare in origins), this guy has nothing of value, he is the worst desire demon ever written.

Supposedly, in the original idea for the Envy demon, he wanted to make us believe we won that battle at the Templar conclave and we experienced a victory in our mind and a good homecoming to boot. Leliana invites your character for a sexual encounter that you can accept or turn down. The idea of the envy demon was that it wanted to know what kind of person you really are. Everything about you, pride, lust.. ect. But they cut the idea because a focus group said it came off as noncon.

They should have put that into the game. Would have made it interesting. Oh well.

Yup, nothing offensive can happen ever, making the world a total joke. It's sad when politics trump storytelling.

I miss them too. They were my favourite. They always had interesting parts to play and were vastly different from the other hack and slash monsters that fill the world.

I really hope they bring them back in the next DLC, pleaseeee!

And not that pathetic excuse for a Desire demon in Emprise De Lion, the real versions from DAO and DA2...
