Yes, people who are only interested in playing humans are not only the overwhelming majority (if DA stats are anything to go from) they are also all white males who only play white males.

Nice job finding a way to twist this into a 'WASPs are evil' rant.

I didn't say they are white males.

You know, sometimes games should make bold choices instead of just catering to the masses.

Character creation is just another superfluous step that keeps you from gameplay. They should remove it. Your actions matter, not who you are.

Good thing for quick start, right?

Not that I use it, I'm quite happy to make a character.

So stop playing games in general? Alright.

You have to get serious and stop playing games if you want to advance in life.

But life doesn't run at 60 frames per second.

Could you please pick some more nit?

Shepard was a human cyborg.

You say that like cyborgs aren't a big deal. "oh these rich people are buying expensive augmentations to put me out of a career, but it's no big deal", or "oh, I'm stuck with an inferior model now that the tech company has invented a better version of my augmentations". There was actually a popular game not long ago that turned cyborgs into a big part of its theme. I'm sure MEA devs could do too if they want.

Character generators that let you choose race especially. Fewer options = more defined player character = nobody acting okay that your character is basically death in the flesh (looking at you pillars of eternity godlike subrace). Besides, pretty sure that witcher 3 has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that having a set protagonists does little to limit any in depth decision making.

No, not every game needs to be The Witcher, and besides if TW3 had all the same issues as DAI then it wouldn't be such a parroted "feature" on its own.

A pox on anyone and their descendants who try to take away character creation. I don't mind the game having iconic defaults, so long as they're "default" and not "only".

I cannot disagree with this request more.  I'm rarely disappointed with the ability to choose my gender/race/species/orientation/etc.  In fact, I will almost always choose not to play games that don't allow this.  TW3?  No thanks.  Geralt does absolutely nothing for me.  The fact that I have to play as him (and I know why; I get it) makes that series totally uninteresting to me.  So, yes, in my opinion, having a bland (imo again) protagonist destroys RPing aspects of the game.  I've said it before and I'll say it again.  If CD Projekt decides to create a companion game where you can create and customize your character in TW setting, I'd give the series another chance.  Until that happens, I'll stick to games that allow me to customize my character.

Plus, there's never been a Bioware game that didn't feature this (even the early games allowed you to pick from a variety of presets), so I cannot imagine any situation where they would stop doing it now.  Maybe in a new IP, but I even doubt that.

Not quite true: Shattered Steel, MDK2 & Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.

Really, you know what I mean.

I only had to browse through 2 pages of NeoGAF's Inquisition creator topic to realize how good it was.

ME:A needs to be there but with some proper hair-tech, style and beards.

I LOVE games with good character creators.

I adore the creators in Saints Row 3 and 4.

I also love the Sims games. And the Fallout 4 character creator looks amazing.

The ME one is rather lackluster, but I would love it improved. Also, a non-derpy default female would be lovely. Pleease?

High-tech beards? Damn, now I want the option to make my character a cyborg viking.

NO!
No to default iconic character. It kill my enyoimant of the CC, since BioWare have the absurd abit to give to the default face the better skin texture and the better hairstyle without putting those into the CC. I'm still angry that I can't use FemShep hairstyle (ME3) and Hawke's iconic hairstyle  <_<

It's not absurd that expensive 3D modelling software and custom textures can do things that a CC can't.

Annoying? Sure.

I hope they give us a decent character creator but I also hope they do what they did with the first three games and give us an iconic looking default face for both male and female.

Im also hoping for default faces.

Default face distracts the dev team from CC in my opinion. Look at all the mess with face imports throughout the trilogy.
