Hi guys! Look at topic and come back here. What do you think, will they finally give us real possibility to make non white character? I mean we never had curly hair or afro for black characters or asian eyes. I am white woman by myself but I would love to see non white character created. Will it be possible after all this time? If they won't give us playable aliens, at least let me make something non-white.

I can never make an authentic Asian character in Bioware game without mod. At best, maybe a mixed Asian.

I think the real jarring thing is there's only two voice actors. One male, one female.

Different races, a lot of times, just have different voices.

You can easily create a non-white protagonist, you just have to be competent and patient.

Inquistion had a couple of hair styles with textures that were fitting for natural hair for a black character. But yeah, Asian facial features are still a stretch.

I remember one very short which looked like cutted afro. Yet there is no long curly hair. :/

In my experience, this has a lot more to do with the environment people come from than their actual race. For example, I know an adult asian woman who has a completely authentic valley-girl voice.

Who cares?

Anyway, I thought I made an asian looking Shepard in Mass Effect, though maybe you'd say he looked mixed.

Perhaps, but referring to voice tones themselves is a bit of a different story, to some degree anyway.

Regardless, multiple voices would be nice because your Not-Shepard just may not suit the voice they'll use if there's only one. male and one female

But money.

Don't expect much in the way of hairstyles, judging from DAI. (Seriously, Bioware, it's called MALE pattern baldness for a reason)

DAI seemed to have the ability to make decent looking caucasian and african looking characters. Severely lacking in the Asian (or any other combination) department.

Or download a good face of course.

Edit: also... what Asian?

Japanese? Chinese (what kind of Chinese)? Indian? Mongolian? Pakistanian? Iranian? They are all Asians...

Sometimes, but not always.

Ashley Williams' VA is a black woman and Emily Wong and Kai Leng were both voiced by actors of European descent. Most people probably never noticed that the voice actor was from a different background than the characters they were playing, unless they messed around on google. Vivienne in Dragon Age is another example. The character was black but voiced by a woman of Indian descent.  I think most times the ethnic background of a voice actor matters much less than their acting ability.

Would love to have better coily hair options. And black hair that looks black and not some funky gray/blue (looking at you, DAI).

Personally for me, they look a bit like Native American. I have a friend who looks similar to that. The skin color is kinda wrong. It's not easy to make an Asian character, but it looks pretty good.

This looks like the closest I can find, but it shouldn't be this hard to make one.

How about a badass character who does badass things that is not, repeat, not politically correct.

Or "on the other hand"; how about the ability to paint ones fingernails each in a different color, thereby guaranteeing inclusiveness?

This is not about asking for more minorities or women inclusion but about making better customization features in which many games have already offered. I'm not even sure how that has anything to do with politically correct. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Idk, IMO the CC couldn't really make decent looking white people either. It's why I always stuck with defaults. It was just a bad CC. Shouldn't have that problem with ME:A. Same engine as DA:I, probably better CC without having to worry about other races.

The CC for Dragon Age Inquisition can make Black, Hispanic, and White characters a lot better, but I don't think I found a convincing Asian face yet. I think their structure and features are harder to recreate with a European preset. They should have an Asian preset for people to work with in ME4.
