You're basically doing the exact same thing the other guy is doing. Where he is taking "more minorities please" to mean "less white people please" you're taking "no, not less whites" as "nope, don't want non-white protagonists in my games thanks." Dat irony.

I really don't agree with your interpretation of the title, especially since "whitey" has a pretty strong negative connotation which makes it sound even more like a "I hate white people" deal. Not wanting to see only one thing doesn't necessarily mean you're sick of seeing it, it could mean you want to see another thing in addition to it. If I ask Bioware to show 'not only gameplay trailers' it doesn't mean I'm opposed to seeing them, I just want to see story trailers as well. 

 

(As an aside, forums as a whole would be a better place if people at least bothered to read the original post and not just the title.)

 

Except that there is only one protagonist. While showing things other than trailers don't preclude the use of trailers, making a single character a certain way means not making them another way.

But saying you want a non-white protagonist doesn't mean you're sick of white people. Anyway we're kind of arguing semantics here. For me "no more white protagonist" would have implied "I'm sick of white people", while "Not only white protagonist" implies I'd like a white and a non-white protagonist.

You'd think people would be more interested in the race of the man or woman whose voice they will be hearing during the entirety of gameplay rather than the race of the Iconic Protagonist which you can always change.

Protagonists can be both white and non-white. Its called mixed-race. And why must one have to choose when you can be both or more.

 

And what does "sound white" even mean? The game is in English, I wanted to hear my protagonists speak in English. Was every protagonists for games in English are automatically white because they speak in non-accented English?

Your use of the word "ignorant" gives me a impression of what I am in for.

Still...different races have significant physical differences in areas that affect how we sound such as the inside of the mouth, the pharynx and the vocal tract. For instance, Africans have the smallest oral cavities, Chinese have the largest and Europeans are inbetween.

So, yeah. Just like different genders within the same race sound different, different ethnic groups sound different from each other. Evidently, the place where these people grow up and yes, the education they receive will affect how they sound which doesn't change the physiological facts mentioned above.

Those environmental, or "nurture" factors are the largest contributors, but there are physical differences that affect the voice. There are always outliers, but there are discernible trends.

Nope, it's the race we belong to which determines immensely our physiology including, but not limited, the incredibly complex processes that determine how we sound like.

There are multitudes of Whites in American, they're not all descended from the British.

Regardless, I did acknowledge upbringing plays an important part in how we sound.

Only in the rarest of cases will you not be able to distinguish adult males from adult female just by sound, even if they grew up in the same household/area/whatever. You can not fathom that you can do the same for people of different race who grew up in the same area... or well, you do. But dayumn.

Now I want to call my cousin and inform him about how American whites are far more anatomically and linguistically superior because I just found out he's linguistically challenged because his oral cavity, pharynx and vocal cords are unnaturally "large and inbetween" since he's half-Asian half-white British English. Oh no, I have to inform my aunt quick before my nieces develop some speech impairment because of their mixed genetics!!
