Lowkey best game of E3
Does anyone else feel like they'd appreciate female leads more, if people didn't make such a fuss about it?

I believe there is an issue that some publishers do not want to publish a game with a female lead as they believe the game will sell poorly as a result.
The game "Remember Me" had difficulty getting a publisher as a result
Yeah, it's almost like the higher-ups working publishing companies are stuffy older wealthy men who are hilariously out of touch with reality, so they impose weird nonsense rules on the developers working for them. That, and their odd fetishizing of focus groups. If the focus group doesn't like something, it's tossed out with the garbage, regardless of how good the idea may or may not be.

I'm not sure the generic look of the protagonist somehow sells games more. It would be one thing if the female leads are of a different trope, but it's all "conventionally attractive athletic people". Not sure a different gender changes the blandness of it all.
These companies focus test everything. Their data must clearly show that Nathan Drake and his many clones help seal the deal.

Conventionally attractive and/or athletic is a good thing. No one wants to see some fatty flopping around in a game. Except the ones who want to feel "accepted" in society without doing sh*t to work on it. Like somehow they think maybe they could transform perceptions through media. I think that's going to take awhile. Besides all of this, no one but an athletic person is going to do things that Nathan Drake does. Seen any obese mountain climbers lately?
And for the record, I've been overweight before. I'm not simply speaking from the outside. And it's not something I'd take pride in at least.

Not sure what the Uncharted beef is about. The little bit of 2 & 3 I've played seemed cool enough. Don't really have a problem with Nathan Drake as a character either, from his looks to his personality. Seems fine to me.

A well-written character is better than no well-written character, regardless of class, race, gender, or stereotype. My appreciation for both male and female leads is the same because of this notion.

*holds his ears and shouts*
NO, FAT PEOPLE CAN CLIMB TO!
I'm 10 KG underweight anyway.

Climb and then pass out maybe.
Even I'd pass out right now, in my relatively good shape (I'm probably 10 kg overweight).
