EDITED:

On a class that could produce its own power-explosions:

isn't prime-ammo overwriting the stronger explosions of the powers

with weaker ammo explosions all the time?

Moreover, they even seem to nullify them. Because when you then stop shooting (e.g. incendiary ammo)

after the Ammo-Explosion (who would do that?)  and then try to detonate the original Prime of the Power (e.g. Warp) -->

it doesn't seem to be there anymore.

Also, following scenario does not work for me:

Incendiary Rounds --> Warp =  FE  -->  Throw = BE (??)

It doesnt produce a BE - although we have different elements here - which is the condition for chain explosions.

General Question:

How do you handle that problem?

Or don't you use Primer-Ammo on Power classes that can create their own explosions?

Concretely: Take the Human Engineer.

If you use Incendiary or Cryo Rounds on him, how do you produce an Overload-Tech Burst without stopping to use your gun?

I'm curious how this works also.

For example, HSent with disruptor ammo should, in theory, be able to:

Shoot (prime tech) -> warp (detonate tech, prime biotic) -> shoot (prime tech) -> throw (detonate tech) -> throw (detonate biotic).

Sometimes it works, and when it does it's beautiful.  Sometimes it doesn't.  Dunno what causes the inconsistency.

In the same vein, could a single enemy (it would have to be a boss or sub-boss) be subject to:

Warp (prime biotic) -> flamer (prime fire) -> disruptor ammo (prime tech) -> cluster grenades 6A (detonate tech, detonate fire, detonate biotic)?

I like your chain...

but tell me: what do you do with your gun if you want a power explosion instead of ammo explosion? stop shooting isn't an option for me.

priming Ammos really seem to suck on versatile power classes, don't they?

If I want 6+6 combos, I'll use AP/drill, or something that doesn't prime anyway.

However, it should be noted that there are circumstances in which, dps-wise, it's better to actually chain ammo explosions rather than 6+6 ones.

And yeah BurningBlood, that cluster grenade thing works. Because clusters are ****** awesome ;)

If I use priming ammo on a kit with power combos (which I rarely do) and I want those 6+6 combos, if often use powers against one enemy and weapons against another. There are usually multiple enemies around, and if not, it doesn't really matter, does it?

The inconsistency should be caused by lost packtets/ the throw not actually registering as having hit the target.

It works all the time if you are host, and of host still most of the time if the lag/PLR is not too bad.

(Tech burst Sentinel is great!)

maybe your second weapon shot did not prime, happens quite often that you dont reprime with the next shots

Yes, it might be better to spread the ammo effect and blow up stuff separately. Juggy is good for this since the loaded siege pulse chargers have no CD except for the animation.
