I would love for armor upgrades to make a comeback!  In ME1, I felt that enemies dropped items too frequently and that cluttered our inventory.  So how did BioWare fix it?  By totally removing it from the game and giving us armor with base stats that can not be upgradeable.

It would be awesome, if we got a head piece that does 10% extra headshot damage but you can add a mod to it like 3% reduced tech ability cooldown.  Or leg piece that allows you to carry more weight by 5% and you can upgrade it that gives all weapons +10% increased ammo.

I think that would help with character builds and game styles.  Even if this isn't in, it's not a loss for me.  But I would like a bit more control of the armor aside from setting the color.

They talked about the armor of the PC being customizable and ungradeable at E3 2014.

I'd love to see an even wider variety of modular upgrades - eg. Hook & Line arm module (a la DA:I), omni-blade upgrades/replacements (omni-shield? omni-guantlet?) stealth upgrades, speed ugrades, jump-jet upgrades, wing-suit upgrade... upgrades that add more interesting functionality than just +10% recharge, +10% weapon damage, etc.
