Number one reason for anyone to leave the lobby from my experience. Why when I host, that's the first thing I change if it's preset.

 

Earlier today on WIiU the host had it preset to Glacier Cerberus, and readied up again for more of the same. And just now on PS3 we finished a Reaper preset only to wait some time in the lobby to find out the hosts wants to fight the Reapers again. So I bailed and decided to come here and complain, since it's BSN tradition. Plus see what everyone here thinks on this matter and how you deal with this issue.

 

 

 

 

 

Better add the words Mass Effect 3 multiplayer so the biomods know it's on topic too.

If it's Geth constantly, I bail. PUGs usually preset Geth with horrible maps.

Funny, I don't mind preset enemies and I generally don't mind preset maps but I get the hell out if both are preset. I blame pugs for this because every time I drop into a pug lobby with both enemy and map preset, it's something f*cking atrocious like Rio/Reapers, FBWGG, Giant/Reapers, Hydra/Geth, you get the picture.

Better add the words Mass Effect 3 multiplayer so the biomods know it's on topic too.

They do it:

 

1) To complete Map Mastery for CP that would take more games to complete if setting it at U/U/G

2) To have an easier match for the kit and load out they are using, which usually means epeen

3) Picking a faction like Geth that doesn't synch kill, because using their Krogan otherwise looks like an idiot, and dies all the time giving them a low score, because to them, it matters

Do I mind presets? Technically no.

Am I freaking SICK of all the Preset Glacier/Giant/Dagger? OH MY FREAKING HELL, OTHER MAPS EXIST, PEOPLE!

When I started to play today, first lobby I ran into was a pre-set Glacier/Reapers. I went with it, then quit. Played a few U/U/G games with other Pugs. 3 hours later I search for a game, the same two players (with clan markings... no comment) and game pre-set to Glacier/Reapers. 

I've also run into a guy a few times before, who has over 100k CPs, and the factions is ALWAYS pre-set to Cerberus. Out of curiousity I looked up his HQ page and he had the Cerberus mastery completed 26 times, Collectors 0, Reapers and Geth twice. Had more hours in the game than me. (Over 2000).

Me no understand.

Sometimes I like having presets. If I'm playing a biotics build, fighting Collectors and Reapers helps me out with shielding. If I'm playing a Salarian or a Paladin, presetting Cerberus and the Geth allows me to use my Energy Drain to full extent.

I happen to actually like playing geth a lot and used to do preset lobbies. also, credit grinding.

I'm on my 2nd ps3, and have lost any and all interest in having my system brick or having to reboot every other match, so I always set either map or faction, and usually both. I also hate Geth (and my Geth Mastery has been stuck for a year or two now), and vastly prefer some maps (Glacier, White, Reactor) to others (Rio, Condor) even apart from tendency to cause memory leak.

I think you should do whatever the other three guys playing on the Wii-U want, since they're the only ones on that console. If you make them mad, you'll never have a full team.

It depends on my mood and the kit I play. I sometimes use a preset if I'm close to finishing a challenge and don't want to play every other faction but the one I need or if I only need a single map until I finish the challenge.

Didn't know this was that much of a problem. I typically preset when I host for these reasons:

 

-fk geth

-fk glacier hazard

 

Other factions are w/e and I switch maps every game as long as it's something friendly to most guns/playstyles, hence the reason I say fk glacier hazard. I usually do both forms of ghost (though hazard version makes PS3s **** bricks), vancouver, london, giant, hydra, and jade.

We finished. Host did not change. Ok, i need more husks points, so why not

Host left in wave 11, after host migration I was host

After Game i switched to U/U/G

Game started. We got Glacier/Reapers

This is basically my method, unless I need waves on that map for map mastery and the first game went well
