So a deluxe version of a game is the same as the other version but cosmetic changes, add 20 or 30 dollars price difference to make it look like you are getting something great.  Ah gamers are an easy market to gouge

I'm noticing that publishers are holding out for more money lately.

 

Let's start with the fact that every new game is now $60 (U.S.) default...for digitally distributed games - wtf? When I started using Steam I swear the games were $50 or less, now it's a distant memory that I can't even be sure of.

 

Besides that, games in general are staying at their full price for much longer. I used to have to wait maybe 6 months for a $20 price drop, now it's a year or more for some titles. I'm a cheap bastard though, I'll wait for a GotY with a base price drop and a 50%+ sale.
