I'm not just talking about duration or damage bonus rings either. I think it would be a great design mechanic that could revitalize old or underused builds that consist of skills people often shy away from. These skill modifiers would change the behavior of the base skill - not the upgrade - and could be used like ability rings. Some modifiers would have a much starker impact on the behavior of the ability than others. I came up with the idea awhile ago, and the Venatori Spellbinders ability to create three Fire Mines is what sparked it. I got to thinking, "Why can't I do that?" So, here are some modifiers for existing skills that I thought up.
Rogue
Warrior
Mage
I'm sure there are better possibilities out there; though it's meant to be an idea. The main reason I'm really proposing this is because I feel as though build diversity is relatively low in this games multiplayer; when compared to ME3MP. I think by adding this type of system to the multiplayer it would really help add new breath to the mode, and give players a reason to keep experimenting.
