I don't care much about long hair...but I would love bangs and more fashionable short hair. And it would be great with colored highlights or tips.

Yes, I'd love more casual clothing options in the game. Maybe even let us customize them like we can our armor.

As for CC, more options are always better.

Well I'm not asking for thousands and thousands of individual free flowing strands. Lets not be silly.

But I am asking for something way better than what we've seen from them prior.

                                                                                              <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

And yet, Bio Edmonton gave us dreadfull hair styles. Even the moustaches are awful.  For some reason, Bio and DA or ME hair styles are very limited.

My bet is that if there are no cinematics with long hair, then expect short and limited styles.  And, if there is a cinematic with long hair, there will be a hue and cry if it's not found in the game. Bio, to cover their butts will have, plain to see, the words representative in their promo videos.

I'm just telling myself that the game will have short hair options and nothing resembling long hair. I don't want to be let down anymore.

Let me step in before someone brings up my mane;yes, for the whoever knows what time this is, I'm backing long hair options in a Bioware game.

Now, because this is Mass Effect and not Dragon Age, I don't think long hair should be a choice in combat scenarios unless there's some workaround. BUT, I have an idea-

What if you could, with several specific hair styles, choose a "casual" version that your character would use when not in a combat location or as long as a helmet is not in use?

Basically, let me explain-

You're at the CC. You're looking at the options for hair, and you see some buns, a ponytail of some sort, things of that nature. They have a note on them that informs you that should you choose that hairstyle for your character, you will have an additional option for a casual hairstyle to use when not encumbered by a helmet. Choosing it, you're given additional options for when your character lets their hair down(literally). How about it?

Or, lets say the game allows you to enter combat without a helmet(unless the story demands it). You can have a somewhat longer style there, but with a helmet on obviously your character's hair is explained to be tied up in some fashion(in reality, there's no need for it to be textured since the player won't see it).

I was thinking about something like this earlier today and I'm glad you brought it up. I would never have long hair whipping around in a firefight and a bun is the only option that says, "Hey, I have long hair." Except there are lots of times I don't want my hair in a bun. It would be nice if casual clothes = casual hair, should you choose an option similar to what you mentioned.

And really, since this is a Bioware game, I'm going to assume that there will be situations where it's pretty jarring to have my character's hair in a tight bun than to have it loose. A naked protagonist climbing over her naked boyfriend or girlfriend has the potential to look odd with hair situation as it currently is.

Also, I'll go ahead and say that I'm getting tired of my squadmates/companions having better hair than me. I understand why that happens, but it's still annoying.

Casual hair options would be great. For example, my hair is long as hell;when I'm eating or doing something that requires effort(like say working out) I'm ALWAYS in a ponytail, but if I'm relaxed like sitting or lying down in bed, a ponytail would just hurt so I let my hair cascade.

Of course details like this aren't necessary to account for in a game like this, but if they did, it'd be awesome.

I want my guy to wear black shoes, black socks, black jeans, wallet chain, dark violet shirt, Cross necklace, and dark violet hood -- un-zipped.

As long as we are talking about fashion, might as well provide an example.

Bioware can't do hair. It's important to a lot of people but look back at past mass effects or even DAI. Atrocious hair. Almost comical.

Unless we see the CC being used in demos to showcase hair and features early, give up.

They should just use the CC from Saints Row 4  :P .

I like the idea of having separate hair styles for combat and casual situations (let the female character let her hair down!!).

What Bioware should do is hire some of the people from the mass effect faces website. Some of those fan creations were incredible especially on the PC side where gibbed was used.

I don't care about long hair and have never had trouble finding at least one hair style I like for both genders in all the ME and DA games, but I do hope they give us options for our casual wear. I can't handle another game of being stuck in head to toe beige and looking like a walking condom.

We just need better face textures. That goes a long way toward closing the gap with the custom Sheploo and NPC models.

If they are going to use a CC from another game, use the one from Black Desert.

I'd rather we get 10 short to mid length hair styles that are actually unique to each gender. That's one of the character creator sins Inquisition had amongst it's other stellar options.

Personally, I don't like having gender-segregated hair. Too many times I've thought "wow, that would look awesome on my Fem!(whatever) when I've been looking through the male character creation, so DA:I actually did pretty awesome in that regard IMO (then again, the selection is a bit limited, and I'd love to have more options). But then again, different strokes for different folks and all that.

But yes, combining long hair and a variety of casual wear / combat gear / helmets (since they seem to be coming back in ME:A) sounds like a clipping nightmare to me. I really like LLPrince's idea - having separate casual and combat hair styles could (hopefully) at least mitigate the issue somewhat.

In a combat vessel where discipline and training is paramount, you want casual clothes such as the above? Then, when you hear the enevitable "man your stations" klaxon you have time to change into your vacuum suite in case of a battle and the enemy breaches the ship losing all air in that area?

Remember that this ship will travel to unknown space and will encounter enemy vessels.  Safety for its crew and ship leads to rules. Iron clad rules for fighting vessels, anyway.

Of course, a crew such the The Firefly, will have different rules.

Geralt is one person, a person who's face is always the same. Its immensely easier to give Geralt several options in both hairstyle and beard as opposed to creating options that fit with endless possibilities in a Mass Effect CC.

The Witcher 3 doesn't even have a CC;it shouldn't anyway since Geralt is a pre-existing character. There's no comparison to be made here.

If you could only have either a lot of hair options, including good looking long hair, but only one or two different outfits, or you could have the hair options we have now but a huge variety of good looking outfits, which would you choose?

For me, it's the outfits. I'd love to have long/better hair options, but I'm way more interested in the clothing, personally.

Honestly? I'd rather have the hair. I'm clearly in the minority but I don't really like the hoodie. When I'm on the Normandy I'm on duty. When I visit my ex-boyfriend in the hospital I'd like to wear something that isn't shapeless and made of fleece. And really, the hoodie seems to be the most popular casual option, so if people really like something like then just make another one or something similar and leave one other casual option and then get on with the hair. Besides, most dialogue is at least shoulders-up, so you're looking at the hair and face (at least up close) much more often than you're looking at the clothes.

No, there should be less options, especially if we play a military character again. Frivolous waste of development time.

Really? Because it took a DA:I modder less than a week of her own time to create about 20 new styles. Some short and some long, but all looked far better than the hair Bioware gave us. Her only problem is getting them in-game. It would be way easier if a developer could just make something good to start with. The game won't be out for a year and a half. Surely someone can spend a week on hair. And if not, outsource it to a modder.

I'm not crazy for long hair. But I would prefer more hair options than clothes, if the new female protagonist doesn't have noodle arms to camouflage. Of course as long as we aren't stuck with something as horrible as the beige jammies of Skyhold.

That would be sort of cool if they did it. It'd be a pretty great way to get new people (women?) into the video game design business.

Yes. A week is too much time to devote to such a useless feature even if it were viable. I'm sure that some random modder is prepared to be able to solve all the hilarious clipping problems that will probably result from their creations.

Casual clothing?

Sure. Have the main character wear running shoes, jeans and t-shirt that says humanity #1 or a Led Zeppelin shirt. Heck an Ozzy shirt would work too

Long Hair?

Of course. I've seen women with very long hair in the military that had it tied up when in uniform, and let it down when out of uniform

They're going to have to create hair meshes anyway. Might as well make some that people like. And granted, this is a different development team than the DA team, but BW's Inquisition hair has plenty of clipping. Just because it's created in-house doesn't mean that it will work.
