Hmm. Maybe we're talking about completely different things? So, what exactly is reload cancelling and why was it intended?

It is cancelling the reload animation before it ends, but after the ammo was put in the chamber.  Christina Norman said it was to reward players with skill.

If you don't like pausing, don't pause.

I avoid it as much as possible, but it is unfortunately necessary if I wish to use more than 3 of my own powers or 1 of each squadmate's powers.

It's dumb, there's no reason the power and weapon wheels shouldn't come up in real time and I not get any clunky camera repositioning or delay hijinks after coming out of it because biower doesn't want baddies using it to aim. Some of us are gud enough to multitask and don't want mechanics for the lowest common denominator.

easier to just remove the SP entirely and focus on the better mode for the better players.

o_O this can't be real...

Well, if she says so, I guess it's true.

What does Shepard do when you cancel the animation, anyway? Move faster, or just blink into position?

So this is some sort of console interface problem? OK -- but then isn't your problem with the wheels rather than with pausing per se? If they fixed the wheels so you could use them in real-time, why would you care if other players pause? Or is there something about the console interface that would make that hard to implement? I have absolutely no idea how it works for you guys.

It depends on how you do it and what the weapon is. In ME2, the most common method is to melee. In ME3, usually the gun just pops back into position.

It depends how you cancel it. With medgel it just means you can shoot again sooner but if you cancel it with a dodge or run you do the movement. Lots of people are reload canceling without even realising it. There are also all sorts of other animation cancels with various powers like Smash.

Thanks. That popping back is probably why this reads as an exploit to a lot of us. But I guess it's really just a cheap animation implementation

It's almost hilarious how we have MP to thank for a lot more varied customization in ME3.

So frankly, bring it on.

Reload Cancelling is vital for some classes/weapons. I literally gave up my latest walkthrough effort (I only completed the game once, I tried again three times but never got to Tuchanka), because I could`t reload cancel properly with a Raider/Vanguard, and was being BS-killed too many times.

An Idea that ocurred to me now: What if some MP chars could be put on the SP campaing, as temporary squadmates?
