Oh, are we discussing Asari sex again?
Mh, what hasn't been said about them... oh, I know. Asari procreation is always incest.
Think about it, they use their own DNA for everything, there is no new DNA coming into the lineage and all they do is scramble their own DNA to create a "new" one. Honestly, the question here is... why do they even need a partner to mate? Couldn't they just create some kind of device that simulates a nervous system so their body can be tricked into pregnancy?
How long is their version of inheritance going to be viable until it breaks down?
There is also the question why the species of their partner matters if they don't contribute anything. Why are purebloods at a greater risk of becoming Ardat-Yakshi if there is no difference because the partner is always just a random number generator. Are Ardat-Yakshi the Asari equivalent of retarded incest babies?
Yes, I know this is fucked up. Don't look at me, I didn't create a monogendered species that procreates by playing lottery with their own genes.
You know what else is weird? A species with no sex drive. How did the Salarians ever survive without this evolutionary imperative?
Or how exactly did the Genophage work, if the Salarians stabilized it at 1 viable child in 1000 births? Are only one in 1000 females fertile? That would kill the species longterm. Or are Krogan playing lottery, too? I don't know if Krogan females would survive giving birth a couple hundred times until they get a living baby.
Anyway.
To leave you with a fun mental image: Aethyta had sex with a Hanar.
