I would be fully on board for Neil DeGrasse Tyson voicing an NPC. Maybe a Mordin type of character but not a squadmate. Not only is he brilliant, inspirational and media-ready, he's also a super nice dude. I've met him twice and not only is he as nice as he seems, he remembered me and everything we talked about the first time we met. I practically fainted both times.

it depends on the intended personality... I feel Tyson would make a great chief scientist of same research organization whereas Bill Nye would be a perfect solo researcher that goes to dangerous worlds on his own.

Yeah, to hear his voice in ME:A, I would squeal like a pig in the mud and school girl that found out her crush likes her back.  Would be even better if NDT played as an important NPC... Like how Anderson was to Shepard.

I'd be concerned that it would end up another Diana Allers (or Buzz Aldrin... ugh). Neil Degrasse is slick enough to swing it, though.

Is it too late for BioWare to call up NDT and ask if he can read the codex entries with the vigil theme playing in the background? Lol.

NDT would be great, but he'd probably sooner rip Mass Effect to shreds on Twitter than do any voice work in the game. He is not a fan AT ALL of Science Fiction movies that aren't hard Sci Fi. I imagine that would apply to games as well. He has no mercy for Sci Fi works that get their science wrong, and there is a lot that the Mass Effect series gets wrong.

 

They'd probably have better luck with Michio Kaku.

Stephen Hawking as the main character, for me.  I'd like to see him criticize all the sci-fi elements encountered in the story, to humorously break the fourth wall.
