You can't really charge sync kill enemies willy nilly with other Vanguards anyway.  And Battlemaster breaks 1000N on Charge easier.

^^ My Slayer disagrees with you as he charges sync kill units all the time and survives.  ( I know the tell signs for when a sync unit is primed )

Yes, but the unability to dodge after a charge requires a little more finesse, notably for waves with multiple Phantoms. I believe that people doing a first platinum solos are usually more comfortable with a dodge, and prefer maintaining some distance with the enemies. I think that's why the Cabal has received several votes.

The console Reegar is also less god mode than the PC version.

That isn't willy nilly for one thing, and is Slayer actually a better easy solo vanguard than Battlemaster?

I can understand arguments for the Cabal, I am talking about Battlemaster in comparison to Brawler.

Reegar of course performs similarly on Brawler as Battlemaster for any given player, except that Battlemaster has extra weapon damage from passive, in addition to being able to take Headshots and still get a 1000N radius charge.

I think the problem with him is that he's dependant on Reegar. If you use Reegar, you probably aren't meleeing much on plat. If you aren't meleeing, than you won't have rage DR and would probably be better off doing the exact same thing with the Brawler.

Moreover, both require being able to avoid syncs all game with a slow dodgeless character, easy in a team (and you don't normally fail if it happens anyway unless you have potato teammates) but actually requiring a little knowledge and finesse in a solo. Even as far as Vangards go, I think Slayer or Cabal is easier.

You mean to tell me this guy in his 1 hour KroGuard Geth Glacier solo doesn't know what he's talking about?

He sure had us fooled.

Then it's the difference in mobility, I guess. The Brawler has also a better cooldown for his charge, hence more i-frames.

The i frames are semi trivial comparing these two, and Battlemaster has 800 more barrier anyway.

Fury and Geth Trooper are the only kits I've played on Platinum and felt like I contributed a lot afterwards. And I tend to panic on Plat, so if I can do it...

The Nightman Cometh says:

^^^^ Yes. The Slayer is a much easier Solo than a Kroguard.

Not sure about acceleration, but running speeds between Krogan and Batarians is the same.

They have the same stagger resistance too.

Of course. Fury is OP. And both these kits are very fast.

For me Asari Justicar, Geth Trooper, Paladin Sentinel, QME or Talon Merc, DAI, and Reegar Batguard were the easiest to complete. Overwhelming offense and crowd control makes a solo easier than defensive powers like stimpaks and repair matrix IMO.

Is there really anything that makes Platinum more brain dead easy then a Reeger X Incindiary Thermal Gear Juggernaut? I don't think so. All you enemies come to you for cremation.

True. 1000 VS 800. I just checked. ... Kinda reminds me of the 800 series and the T-1000.

I find the whole "Battlemaster needs Reegar" sentiment to be interesting to begin with.  Really all of the Vanguards except for 2 need to have good weapon damage or else you are just fooling around regenerating your shields.  The two that aren't as dependent are DV and AV for obvious reasons.

Slayer does do better damage than Battlemaster but isn't remotely as tanky, doesn't have stagger resistance, and to get decent mileage out of Phase Disruptor you need either decent dps and or stagger with the weapon with relatively low weight.  Around half of the runs in the HoF are running Acolyte and a bunch of others run Venom.
