Is there some inherent property on it that causes enemies to ragdoll when it strips their shields sometimes? This is not with disruptor rounds. Doesn't happen all the time but it seems to sometimes cause almost a disruptor type reaction in unprotected enemies. I always attributed this to others or to disruptor or powers but I was solo using AP rounds with acolyte as a backup.

The Acolyte acts like a taser on unprotected ennemies, yes.

Lol, I guess I haven't used the thing enough to notice in almost 3000 hrs. I guess I'm a little slow on the uptake. Is there any other weapon that has that stunning mechanic?

I've used this gun a few times for solos. ![]()
I can't think right now to an other weapon with this property, nope.

Phantom on host DR with the plat shield regen is almost stupidly hard to deal with unless you have a power designed to destroy them. That's the only reason I pulled the weapon out really, I tried shooting them in the face again and again but it's such a time sink trying to kill them on Plat.

A lot of weapons stagger -- Venom, Falcon, Krysae, etc. -- but only the Acolyte both staggers and does +500% shield/barrier damage. That's what makes it so good.

I thought it was an Asari weapons thing, the disciple can also stagger. I carried the acolyte as a sidearm in every match until they put the charge mechanic back in it.

This isn't just stagger it's like the disruptor seizure reaction at times. Hell I thought I had made a mistake and put on disruptor.

I see well what you're talking about, I did a Wraith / vorcha hunter/ Cerb solo a few days ago. Hopefully I had Sub Net, or the solo would have been even longer than it was (48 min).

Alas no.

OMG Nuke. You have played this long and still have not mastered the Art of LolAcolyte? Seriously, rag-dolling happens with every type of ammo used on it. I love bouncing Marauders off the map with it. When I use the gun....My Slayer uses Incid. Ammo ..others Phasics..never tried Disruptor before..probably cuz my Adepts use it the most. Explosive ammo might actually be funny with it because of the rag-dolling.

I don't use it that often I always thought it was another person's powers or something causing the shock reaction.

Acolyte should have had a chance to explode for 10000 FF damage (impact + DOT).

Another reason why it's called Crutch-o-lyte. And why it starred in a popular YouTube vid, paired with popular action star Geth Trooper, called; "Mass Effect 3: Platinum solo guide EASY MODE."
It was quickly followed by the cult mega hit called "Mass Effect 3. Retirement guide EASY MODE."

^ He doesn't matter. Who "retires" from a video game? This isn't a job. Bioware didn't pay him anything. The 5 bucks he earned from you tube he probably drank it.
