Because of my renegade FemShep's choices in ME2, Tali committed suicide in my first playthrough of ME3.

I've never been more horrified and impressed by a game in my life.

You took pity on the feelsbots? Some Renegade you are.

I was merely disappointed that I would have to buy a new toaster. Actually, first time through I think that I went with renegade persuasion, thinking I would get some obedient machine servants to throw at the Reapers ala Admiral Xen's plan. Instead I got the feels.

Oh wait, I think we're supposed to be avoiding spoilers.

Legion, Grunt and Mordin got me burst into tears for the first time. They still affect me so much.

But saving her is really easy. Exterminate the genocidal machine Reaper slaves instead of getting duped by their propaganda.

Believe it or not, I accidentally had Tali suicide on one playthrough. I was role playing a conflicted Shepard. First I told the VI that he couldn't upload the code. Then he said "this is not justice." So I said, "OK, fine, upload away" thinking I would get an interrupt to stop him. Umm, nope. No interrupt. Nice swan dive there Tali. Went back to the ship to hear everyone's dialogue, then ended the playthrough.

Its surprising that Tali/Raan make no effort at all to stop the upload if the geth are chosen. They never cared about their own species

I didn't want to exterminate them because to me, it was unjust and back then I didn't know how to get them both so Tali died. At first, I assumed may be I could save Tali. That didn't happen; she committed suicide.
Geth too have a place in my galaxy.

who took pity on the geth?  As soon as Legion admits he's upgraded with reaper code I couldn't wait to off him.  Bad things happen when you get messed with by the reapers.

Sooo....letting the geth get wrecked for their decision to squat on someone else's planet then ally with the Reapers instead of giving it up when they are beaten is unjust, but intentionally luring your allies, civilians and all, into a trap involving use of requisitioned enemy technology then genociding them is fine? K

Geth have a place in my galaxy too, as servants of their organic masters. They refused that, and instead tried to disguise an obvious galactic power grab via code upgrades that would enable a genocide and geth ascendancy over all organic life as some kind of twisted definition of self defense or "justice". So unfortunately, they were destroyed.

As soon as it started unprovokedly thieving sensitive and classified personal data off of crewmates in ME2 I wanted to off it. I gave it a chance, and it responded exactly how I'd expected an AI to without proper control. There should have been an option to not intervene and let Tali blow that things flashlight head off instead of Shepard just politely telling it to stop and letting it remain on the mission.

Then it uses lies, propaganda and misinformation to try garnering sympathy to disguise its intentions to make its "people" the undisputed dominant lifeforms in the galaxy using requisitioned enemy technology. Sorry Pinocchio, but If I'm not okay with TIM/ Cerberus doing that with my own species I'm certainly not going to let some up to five minutes ago hostile enemy artificial lifeforms do the same, especially not at the expense of 17 million people who are more useful to the war effort anyway.

We disagree on that. I don't see them as servants but individuals. If I can trust the Krogan because of Wrex, I can trust the Geth because of Legion. And I do, almost every time.

Legion's not a leader, nor an individual symbol like Wrex. It has virtually no influence over the actions of the consensus apart from being an organ for assimilating information just like every other geth in a mobile platform.

"almost?" There's hope for you yet, then.

A problem brought about by a combination of 300 years of typical Council fuckery and a rebellious roomba infestetion on Rannoch that is no longer a concern at that point. It's a lot better than whatever the geth's excuse is for the literal Dyson idiot ball structure, anyway, unless said structure was actually the Death Star.

Don't argue with me, argue with the war assets. Xen and Koris being worth 2/3rds as much as the entire geth armada is totally legit.

Actually, it is an individual symbol, in that it's literally a symbol for the coming individuality.

But also in that it's the voice of the consensus to Shepard. It doesn't influence, it speaks with the authority of its entire race, which is more than Wrex can ever claim. Until arguably the Reaper code fiasco, where it is an individual and the robot messiah here to usher in a new way for its species.

Either way it's more of a representative to/of their species than any other character.

Oh these excuses cause me mirth. Every other major species did what was necessary to thrive and survive.

Asari hoard tech and shake their asses to manipulate people.

Turians bring the muscle.

Salarians bring others to bring the muscle and then sterilize them when they grow uppity.

Krogan spread like cockroaches and rain down asteroids when they're pissed off.

Rachni are actual space cockroaches.

Humans are all the above (even space cockroaches, according to some  ).

Quarians on the other hand got pushed out by their own roombas as you call them and have been QQ'ing about it ever since. When they finally nut up and do something about it, it's the exact opposite of useful and comes at entirely the wrong time.

The Dyson Sphere made sense in a vacuum because it removed the geth's biggest weakness. The remaining gap in logic is indeed how this is supposed to fight the Reapers. Maybe they thought they'd figure that part out after they got super-smart.
