You know why I believe this is a borderline feminist argument? Because NOBODY has brought up the point of Jacob's combat outfit, or Thane's combat outfit BOTH of which have sexualized tones to them and are ALSO out of place but yet nobody mentions them....because they aren't female.

Just because people singled out Miranda or Samara doesn't necessarily mean they approve of Jacob or Thane's armor either. Miranda and Samara just happen to be the most glaring examples in ME2, because the catsuit or cleavage also got an assist from camera angles designed to focus your attention on Miranda's ass or Samara's chest. I don't really remember Jacob or Thane getting similar treatment from the camera, thank god, even though their armor has many of the same issues.

Ideally Jacob would have been wearing something similar to Kaidan or Vega in ME3 except with a Cerberus color scheme, and Thane would have had some light armor under that duster.

Focus? What part of "90% of the time you spend shooting" did you not understand? Seems like shooting is very much the focus in Mass Effect, even ME1.

Deus Ex is a completely different beast, where you can basically beat the game without firing a single shot (and it's actually encouraged to play that way). How you can compare ME to DE is beyond me.

It makes no sense, you spend over 50% of the games in dialogue. If the combat is 90% shooting, then yes. You are comparing RPG's to TPS and FPS games, i don't get it.

  This ties in nicely to my theory that SJW means really nothing except, "I don't like what you like.  So there must be left-wing agenda there, I know it!  I'm going read what I want to in your post, and call you this silly term that means zero outside of the internet."

Besides, I happen to like Sliced Juicy Watermelons.  They are tasty, especially during the summer.  With that, I'm off to ME or DA:I.  I haven't decided yet, but first, coffee!

Why can't every poster be like you!

I even pointed out in this thread that Jacob's catsuit felt stupid to me

Why should female characters not look sexualized, when a lot of attractive women dress in a sexualized way in real life?

Mass Effect's fashion seems to be different, but is a catsuit really all that different from a mini-skirt and a low-cut top?

As to wearing that in combat, blame it on ME2 mechanics, that didn't give ANY companions armor.

Project Lazarus. You lose.

Don't forget the derpy Space Terminator that was a knock off of a Contra 3 boss(the latter of which made more sense in it's context).

Space Terminator here and Frankenmom in DA2 made me feel embarrassed to be a gamer.

Guys, what are you talking about?!

The lazarus project made 100%. I mean it can even be done with today's technology! And even if it couldnt, the game explained it so well and also really took it into account throughout the rest of the trilogy! Best thing to happen to ME

I hope you're not being sarcastic because I love the Lazarus Project. I love Shepard being forced into Cerberus to save the galaxy, just because they're the only thing she has. I love that she had to leave her life behind and how she met up with her team again. I think ME2 is an awesome game.

Man, this is the worst thread to run out of likes.

There's still a forehead shaped dent in my floor from the baby terminator reaper.

Action shooters are more popular than action RPGs? It's probably the reason ME has evolved more towards an action shooter with each iteration. Anyway Halo and Gears barely had any women in them at all and that was something added in latter iterations, except Cortana who was sexuallized. ME has always been a more character driven game and NPC focused than these games.

That's why people are saying they have no problem with it as casual wear

That was my main issue with ME2 they didn't even bother making alt armor until the DLC packs

No, you're not allowed to like ME2 on the ME boards. That's going against the mainstream opinion, like admitting you like a Call of Duty game. Any cred you may have had up to this point is now shattered, ground into dust, and scattered to the wind.

Tbh, Laura Bailey is the only interesting thing about Vale so far. Kelly and Linda are where it's at.

Kat, Miranda Keyes, Doctor Halsey, Silva, Linda, Kelly, Tanaka, Vale, Palmer, Veronica Dare, several female marines, etc.

Right, aside from Cortana, no female characters in halo.

Re-read what I wrote as I believe you missed the "added in later iterations" part.

Oh god you guys it's been five years and you're still in the ME forums talking about aspects of the game you hate? Damn, I stopped posting in the Bethesda forums just a few months after Oblivion came out. Find something enjoyable to do. Christ.

Because then everything would get stale :P

  Nah.  Debating and heated conversations over misunderstanding are just like life.  It...finds a way.   Besides, I'd get bored after a point.  Everyone agreeing with each other wouldn't provide interesting conversation.  I'm just sick of the rather heated insults.  You know, this still isn't as bad as the DA forums are to me right now.  I'm sure that will change in time.   :P

Now coffee and a BioWare game for sure.  Have fun everyone, and try to avoid silly, meaningless insults.

I don't think I had any because I just started the series last month. If I'm in negative cred I don't think anyone will notice.

Evne then, there is Cortana, Foehammer, Miranda Keyes, and Halsey who have all been major characters just in the first 3 games (although Foehammer only appears in the first game and Halsey doesn't appear on-screen until Reach). Halsey herself is arguably the most influential character in the entire series besides the Chief.

If we're counting spin-offs, there's also Dare from Halo 3 ODST, as well as Serina and Professor Anders from Halo Wars.
