But in all seriousness, I'm not talking about trolling, because trolling is the easiest thing to avoid. I'm talking about general human experience. It's easy to say to a normal person that everyone should be treated equally, but reality is something else and there are still bigots out there, unfortunately. What's positive about all this feminism thing is that it's getting harder and harder for bigots to say stupid **** without someone calling them on it, and I think that's positive. You can't change someone, not really, but you can laugh at them and wait for them to die out.
Bioware, please no overly sexualized characters!

I think a venn diagram of the two would pretty much be a perfect circle. Some people just can't seem to get past the ridiculous straw feminists that haunt their darkest fantasies.
Spoiler
It's important to remember that they don't actually exist.
That may actually be the most ridiculous thing that's been posted in this thread, and there's certainly no lack of contenders.

Isabela's outfit fits her. She is rogue that uses lot of agility when fighting and she's very sexual person as well who likes to show it.
Miranda's outfit also fits her. It just fits her when she's not fighting geth army with rocket shooters in environment that is full of radiation.
Well sure, Miranda has the added silliness of fighting in space in her outfit. But both are sexualized, for the same reasons. The demo for DA2 made that clear. It ended with her inviting Hawke to come find her in the Hanged Man for 'company later'. It was even edited in the demo to give the player the impression that if they buy the game they get to bang the sexy pirate!
Well they do but in game the conversation actually sounds more like she is offering to join the party for more martial skills.
I'm not convinced that her clothes and behaviour were anything but fan service for straight guys (and lesbians). Any more than Mirandas butt shots.

Sure it was fan service. People can accept it more though because the fantasy genre rolls with the idea that you can adequately defend your self without armor if you are agile. ME set its lore and combat up around the idea that armor and shields were needed along with cover as you can't super ninja dodge bullets moving Mach 100.I'm not convinced that her clothes and behaviour were anything but fan service for straight guys (and lesbians). Any more than Mirandas butt shots.

True, but like with all science it requires a larger sample size to be more conclusive and scientists are not allowed to do stuff like that anymore. So far with humans we've only really seen the end result, not what happens inside us during the process since the accidents were accidents so we didn't have all the necessary equipment in place to gather data. We'd need things like cameras and sensors to get real-time data on the exposure to vacuum and the consequences of it on and in the human body.
That's true. We mostly have theories based on accidents. A guy was exposed to vacuum and lived and the only thing he said he remembered was his saliva bubbling just before passing out. What I find interesting about the story is that there was another guy sitting in a partially pressurized chamber wearing nothing to protect him but a breathing mask and he was able to enter the room to check up on the guy long before it was safe for an unprotected doctor to enter.
This could mean that a breathing mask alone is enough to protect a person in partial vacuum even at dangerous levels. However, a full suit is needed for full vacuum. With that in mind, a biotic user wouldn't even need to protect themselves completely from space vacuum to be safe.

I guess I reject the basic premise of a "target audience" here. I'm pretty sure science fiction is one of the most broadly appealing and popular genres of the past century, and it's only growing. Story driven RPGs appeal to a broad group of people, and draw new fans to the genre everyday. And Bioware's fanbase (their "target audience") absolutely isn't limited to aggrieved teenage boys hanging around here all righteously indignant about a little diversity (and who are likely going to buy the game no matter what, if only to yell about all their perceived agenda pandering).
Where have you been these past couple of years? Mass Effect lost all credibility at being sci-fi with Ed Wood level schlock like Lazarus and Space Terminator and hasn't been an RPG since the first game.

I don't mind neither of the outfits, since I think they fit to characters, but shame on marketing team for doing that.

Define credibility?
Before ME1 came out they trotted out some pet scientists to show that the science they were basing ME on feasible. So um before launch they had some sci-fi cred building maybe..

I didn't say Mass Effect didn't get dumb (in fact, I didn't even mention it in the post you quoted). But it's still an RPG, and it's still firmly science fiction.
In any case, I guess it remains an action RPG then, and it's as much one of those as any other action RPG. People are certainly holding The Witcher up as the pinnacle of the genre lately, and it's no more or less an RPG than those games, which are firmly and decidedly action games wrapped up in RPG trappings.

Now of course it's all a matter of personal preference, and I can see some people would like their SF as 'realistic' and serious as possible, but for me personally it's not a very happy marriage when taken too far.

Oh Please Miranda's booty is nothing compared to Kaidan's Biotic booty. Which Bioware didn't show enough of btw.
This. I don't care about overly sexualized characters, but you gotta spread the love.
For every Miranda's ass and Samara's huge rack we need Kaidan's booty and hot shirtless guys.

@DoomsdayDevice, Amen to everything you said. Games, movies, and shows are about getting away from the real world and indulging in a fantasy. The moment it starts taking itself too seriously then it becomes cringe worthy. If realism truly needs to be considered in a Sci Fi then women probably wouldn't even be in the genre as much as they are considering the fact that women have a lower threshold for radiation than men and suffer from a host of other issues that would impede fighting in space such as decreased speed and balance. Meanwhile men would end up blind at some point from all the space travel. Not much room for playing a galactic savior once things get real.

What's wrong with everyone getting what they want? IMO, it's a much more valid complaint to say that not enough of what you want is in a game than trying to destroy what someone else enjoys. There's enough room for blue alien chicks, shirtless men, ass shots, and badass women.

I don't see how ME1 is scientifically more credible than ME2 and ME3.
They're all phlebotinum-fueled rule of cool.
I always have to wonder what people who say this actually think does qualify as 'credible science?'
Because there seems to be some very serious delusions about how 'real' pretty much all science fiction in existence except for a small and fairly obscure collection of novels is.
So tell me, what stories do think are scientifically 'credible,' exactly?

I don't want to see transgender people in my stories. Or explicit gay (male-male) content. Or obese people. Or any number of other groups of people.
I advocate for their exclusion.

I just hope we get a young woman squadmate with a great face, great hair, great voice, and a tight wearing suit that highlights her athletic sexy ass body.
I'm attracted to hot and sexy women. It wasn't a choice, I was just born this way. Don't judge me for it.
