You seem to having a great deal of difficulty with the terms 'differences between genders' and 'inequalities between genders.' I keep saying the word 'differences,' and you keep turning it into 'inequalities' and 'sexism.'

Why don't you give me a plain answer to this? You think that any significant difference - any difference - is, automatically, 'inequality.' Or 'sexism.'?

Is that right?

No. I don't think the issue here is differences of the genders.

Is that right? Why you list off a few areas where there are significant differences between men and women in society and yet you don't consider consider 'inequality' or 'sexism'?

Is there a point to your questions? What is for you "difference" between sexes in MEU? The genetic predisposition of women to wear catsuits? Badly designed boobs? Glued on belts?

I simply don't think there is any difference between men and woman in why women should be dressed into more revealing clothing.

And I wonder if these gender differences you talk about really just excuse made to justify gender inequality and how it's okay, because it's something natural? Which it isn't.

This is not a difficult question. I am going to ask it nice and slowly and clearly and precisely.

Do you hold the position that significant differences between genders are inherently inequalities or sexism?

Is your answer to that simple question yes, or is your answer to that simple question no? If the answer is no, that significant differences between genders are not inherently sexism or inequality, I would like you to provide several examples of those significant differences between gender in society that are not sexism or inequality.

Is that clear enough for you? Is that something within your understanding?

This has been going on back and forth for several posts now, and it is getting very, very tedious. If you cannot give me an answer to this question, I'm going to have to assume these are concepts that are simply above your head, and that I've been wasting my time.

Wow, BabyPuncher, why don't you get to the point. Every post you make in every thread is a thinly veiled opinion disguised as a question. Why don't you explain really slow, so we can all get it, what exactly are you trying to say.

Hm..  that's an interesting perspective on it.

From something Gaider said about developing a game.  Summarizing here: "writers and artists come together and discuss a scene. Sometimes the artists influence the writers...".  This means, to me, that cinematics are thoroughly discussed before approved for production.

Question:  Why, then, would Bio develop such a "butt crack scene" or your perceived rapey approach?

Can I play too?

Totally.

Sure it was fan service. People can accept it more though because the fantasy genre rolls with the idea that you can adequately defend your self without armor if you are agile. ME set its lore and combat up around the idea that armor and shields were needed along with cover as you can't super ninja dodge bullets moving Mach 100.

Oh really? We have real ninjas in ME.

I am trying to determine whether there she has any legitimate reason to oppose women being more sexual than men in fiction.

If she holds the position that any difference - any difference - between the genders is 'sexism,' then I know she her opposition isn't actually based in sex at all and she has no legitimate reason. I can comfortably discard her opinion in the trash and end the conversation.

If she doesn't hold that position, she should have no problem providing a few examples as evidence. And we might have something to actually discuss.

Especially the men.

Yes there is, men are all about the visual and women crave the attention and validation they get from it.

Personally, I prefer my dames to dress modestly, but I won't turn down the opportunity to gawk at some nice cleavage or legs that a woman has so graciously provided me a view of.

I have already answered the question, but you refuse to give answer on what you think are these significant differences.

To answer once again, No, all the differences aren't from sexism and gender inequality. There is few biological differences.

And of course this goes around and around when you tip toe around it without giving me straight-answer yourself.

I'm pretty sure that these video game characters do not crave attention and validation from opposite gender more than their male parts do.

Also I'm also pretty sure that most female players do like visual appeal of men in revealing clothing. Just look fanart of ME male characters anywhere. Likely not just when it breaks immersion and doesn't fit to context where it happens.

Plus, women modders make the males in ME and DA look more "attractive". Or let's not forget the male nudes in Skyrim. Or the plethora of arts with men.

But only men are about the visual...... right.

Biological differences? There is some in height, muscle mass, brain and hormones. What the differences biological differences bring are bit up to debate. There is talk about pain tolerance being stronger on one sex, aggressivity being stronger on one sex and so on,  but these things aren't known facts, more like theories.

As I said in earlier posts, I was talking about differences in society. Differences in careers. Differences in aptitudes. Differences in interests. Things that happen beyond the body.

Obviously biological differences cannot be sexist as humans generally have no control over them.

That women can't even compete against men in golf, shows there's more than just "some" difference between the two.

True.

Differences in society are mostly from different upbringing and gender inequality.

You are talking about inequality in general? I don't really see why it would overrule gender inequality. There is inequality that is divided in many sectors, inequality of sexes, inequality of races, inequality of classes and so on. The thing is that there is inequality in general doesn't mean inequality of more detailed sector doesn't exist or isn't worthwhile.

Yeah, let's talk about physical inequality in a game that lets you wear kinetic exoskeletons & time dilation scopes. You guys are ridiculous. I'd respect you more if you just outright say "I want more booty in my game." like those random posts that appear every couple of pages. But nooo, it's gotta be the pseudointellectual "Prove to me that men & women are equal & also explain to me the whole world order in a ten page essay with references".

"I want more booty in my game." I love boobs, Samare looks great more females like her. I sick of people who forcing developers to change all characters because all must be how I like it.
