Right but to me it's especially egregious when it more or less implies my demographic doesn't or shouldn't even be playing.  Otherwise, it's just annoying.

I think that's a rediculous conclusion to reach but I'm not going to waste my whole day arguing about this. My only suggestion would be to not let the little things bother you so much or to be too quick to conclude bad intentions where there may be none.

I'd like to see a straw poll about that.  Josie is very well liked, as is Cass.  I've heard a lot of people talk smack about Miranda's attitude and intentionally had her die in ME2 during the SM.  Morrigan was so disliked that is a mod called "Slap Morrigan" exists.  I saw posters brag about stabbing her during Witch Hunt, so I don't think she's as beloved as a few posters might think.

Poll where? On BSN? BSN is full of SJWs who are actually minorities outside of BSN. A BSN poll would be very misleading.

Jacob was a mandatory male member, as Alistair was, and yet the two have very different reactions from the fanbase. Not to mention that both Morrigan and Miranda have their share of people who dislike/hate them.

Yea, and I'd also be interested to see what the stats on Jacob are outside the forum.  The point is that without a much, much more in-depth analysis than popular anecdotes on this forum are capable of, it's extremely hard to determine if a particular LI even was popular, let alone *why* they might have been.

Here is another example.

tela_vasir_10_by_johntesh-d50xms7.jpg

Tela Vasir is attractive and her armor still shows her feminine features while not looking dumb like Miranda or Samara's outfit.

She should've lived :(

Well, Bioware has better data then us, and if his treatment in ME3 is any indication, he's still Not very popular :P.

There aren't bad intentions.  It's just stupid obliviousness.  I never though the developers were *intending* anything in particular.  And for me at least, Bioware assuming I must be a horny straight dude really isn't small stuff compared to say the silly ME1 unlocking game.  That's small stuff.

I don't hate her character for doing things like that and I personally would've spared her as Shepard

Sliced Juicy Watermelons can't post.  They don't have hands or fingers, duh.

Jokes aside, I know what a SJW is, but it's a pointless and meaningless insult.  I've seen posters talk about "SJWs everywhere."  You don't have to do it on the BSN.  Start up a straw poll on IGN or whatever site you feel is "safe."  I'd participate and I'd love to see the results.  Besides, what in blazes does being a SJW have to do with liking or disliking a character?  Do you really think anyone truly likes or dislikes a character based on their clothing?

I liked Josie a lot.  She's got a great head on her shoulders, a beautiful smile and remains calm most of the time.  I like Miranda because she had to learn to be tough as well as cold.  She didn't have a lot of people near her, so it was great on my FemShep to see her friendship bloom.  I'm not a fan of her catsuit aesthetically, but I've talked about before that it suits her character.  Another lady with a wonderful smile.

Cassandra is my favorite friendship in DA:I.  I love her attitude, her vulnerability and her honor.  I always encourage her to reform the Seekers.  I wish I could have been a sparring partner with her on my warriors.  I loved the fact that she never looked down on my elf nor my dwarf for not believing in the Maker.  Morrigan is my favorite friendship in DA:O.  Her intelligence, cunning and good heart (which she has under the surface) adds a lot to both games.

So, may I ask exactly what "SJWs" have to do with any of this?  Are you saying that SJWs can't like someone like Miranda or Morrigan because of the way they appear?  If that's your criteria, then you don't know the BSN very well.  There is more complaints and praises about their personality over their looks.

I'm still fuzzy on the whole SJW thing other than the latest term for "knee-jerk liberal."  I might have to dig up my post about it from the TW3 thread...

True, but I could just as easily use Jacob as an example of how catsuits don't make a character more popular as well, which was the original hypothesis to explain Morrigan and Miranda's popularity.  People can interpret things into oblivion and gone and still be wrong.

So...SJW wouldn't like Morrigan, right? In the case Morrigan resulted popular enough if means You're wrong, right?
I'm almost tempted to create a poll myself.

Understood. I probsbly misudnerstand your intent. I don't think Miranda's and Morrigan's popularity is based on their outifts.

If Shepard can talk down Wrex during the genophage situation in ME1, s/he sure as hell could've make a convincing case for why Vasir should come work with them instead.

Varric looks decent. Dorian and Vivienne too.

Architect?

They have a handful of good ones. But you are right - most of them are mediocre at best (Blackwall's look  terrible in DA:I, at least for me).

I hated Varric's chest open shirt but his outfit didn't look bad.  It sort of had a western thing going on. Dorian's outfit looked okay but I hated the color they chose, especially with his skin tone. I modded it black and like it much better.  I tried to mod it white as well but for some reason the color just wouldn't stick to most of the outfit.  But the parts that were white looked good on him.

I didn't like Viv's outfit that much. The hat was cool though.  Oh yeah Blackwall looked bad and so did IB.  If there is a character who needed to put some freaking clothes on it was him.

Wrong again?

This whole thread is about wanting characters to wear outfits that are fit for combat. What they wear for casual wear isn't an issue to anyone here

Especially when she had a point at calling Shepard a hypocrite

I'd probably let her go or arrested her and then let her go :P
