Where does Asari Commando armor fall under this?
They're code named commando for a reason.
On a serious note, it's more armour like than Miranda and Jacob's outfits, there is some plating, and at least no heels/pumps
His fighting style is different then. Or maybe he likes wearing heavy armor to protect himself. Kaiden and Miranda aren't the same people. It's ok for them to have different preferences. Besides Kaiden is an alliance soldier not a Cerberus agent.
Both Kaidan and Miranda are sentinels, they basically have the same "fighting style"
Cerberus Agents would still wear armor in an obvious combat situation

Light armor
Probably draw the line at calling it any form of protective gear when you can see the person's belly button.

I think you can make a case for futuristic material to be more comfortable than current material that looks like the above, though.
I'm not a big fan of asari being all up ons and my Shepard just standing there either, believe me. Like I said, I don't think they had explicitly bad intentions with any of this. I think they were just being obtuse and oblivious. Now, however, they know.
I thought it was great. Unexpected and I liked it. If it offended anyone then I say too bad. A game of this type without sexualization, the unexpected and even the disturbing would be very boring to me. I personally find violence disturbing at some times rather than sexuallity but I still play violent games and watch violent movies. If I knew I wouldn't see anything that might disturb me in advance it would take a lot of the fun away from playing or viewing someone elses creation.

Yeah, it looks like it is made of some sort of composite material.

Sorry, have to post that whenever someone uses obtuse in that manner. ![]()

Why the *heck* is me wanting the option to back away when an asari tries to kiss me without my permission such a censure on creative freedom or whatever? Or not wanting to just stand there like a dope when an asari starts rubbing herself against my face? You would still be perfectly free to stand there and be kissed or rubbed if you want.
Being punched in the face is also unexpected. Would you prefer if Shepard just stood there as if nothing happened in that situation?

SInce when is spraypaint "material"? ![]()
This discussion is going nowhere. All arguments are repeated again and again. Seriously... the past ~10 pages or so didn't offer anything new.
Are the outfits worn by some (mostly female) characters less than ideal for the battlefield? Sure are. We could dispute this fact and make up theories about force fields and biotic barriers but the truth is: Those outfits were not chosen with any practical reason in mind, they were chosen purely for the looks. Be honest, you know this.
The question now is: Do we throw the last vestiges of realism away so we can ogle fit bodies in tight and/or revealing suits? Or do we want proper armor and helmets, so the game feels a little more realistic? Rule of cool or taking a tiny step towards harder sci-fi?
This question only has subjective answers, neither of which is right or wrong. There's no point discussing it any further, people will like what they like.
At best we could make a poll but since most players aren't registered in the forums, I don't know if the result would be representative.

Look I do understand where you are coming from, choice is good but as much control as you do get in ME you aren't going to get control over every decision. It's still going to have some linear parts and it's up to the developer to decide what they want as part of the game and when they want to give you a choice. Anyway if I have been too agressive arguing my point I do apologise, I feel I have. It's not normally in my nature to take up arguments at all but in honesty I did find some of your views crazy. Maybe with time to think through what you have said I will be able to understand your position better.

I don't expect it over every decision. I also don't think you are being that aggresive. I think you may think I'm asking for a lot more than I really am. I could trying waxing philosophical some more about *why* I want what I want but it basically boils down to this: please no mandatory prominent ass/boob/crotch camera angles in conversations that have nothing to do with sex. Also if a character makes an unsolicited sexual advance on me, give me the option to respond and don't just have me stand there like a dope. That's really all I want.
They did "sex up" the characters from ME1 to ME2, then toned it down a bit in ME3. I don't mind have a few characters that are sexy and irresistible... But seriously.. Jack's default armor... Samara's saggy breasts... Miranda and dat a**! *Ahem*

Well, the Dragon Age team considers paint as acceptable heavy armor for The Iron Bull. ![]()
A human was brought back to life after suffering this type of tragedy and yet we are talking about "realism"?
Where is the realism in that?

Well in defence of Shepard standing there stupidly Aria is pretty quick. Maybe Shepard genuinely had no time to react ![]()
I do genuinely wonder how well received would be a male character who was dressed in such skin tight Lycra material that you could see his bellybutton and the shape of his genitals. Would people still be okay with it? If we also had females dressed like Miranda and EDI, would it be okay to have a male who you could actually see the outline of penis?

Out of interest what demographic is supposed to find Jack attractive? In terms of the visual offenses I personally experienced during the game she would be featured in the majority.

They did that with Jacob, really. Except for the obvious genitals part. It was so skin tight that you could see every muscle. It looked like the suit had been painted on. It's as silly on him as it is on the ladies.

The Aria one actually is more defensible because it's just such an Aria thing to do. Though for my Shepard I actually just got confused Aria who couldn't figure out what my motives were and thought I was "one of the most dangerous people I've ever met" or something.
The ones I'm really thinking about are Shiala and the Consort.
I don't know what kind of response you are or aren't locked into if Aria kisses you, but if say Shepard always gave a coy little smirk or something, I would find that quite annoying.
Jacob's the closest to it, but to be fair, he didn't have the same 'ass definition' that Miranda did and he certainly didn't have EDI's cameltoe problem.
