Is this guy being serious about a character having cameltoe in a frigging video game being completely cool and normal? HAH
And not just a character. A friggin' robot.

Oh, I'm betting if a lot of conversations with Jacob focused on his crouch, there would be a lot of complaining. I'm sure that feminists/LGBT+ community/latest scapegoat would receive the blame for this too.
Where does Asari Commando armor fall under this?
See, I am absolutely willing to believe that if this offers any kind of protection, then Miranda, Jacob, Thane, and Samara's outfits all offer roughly the same. I see what people are calling "plating" but it looks to me like it's just a layer of a flexible material. And I'm willing to suspend my disbelief that Miranda and the others are wearing something comparable that's just visually less obvious, and I don't require everything to be obvious for me to make that assumption. Call it headcanon if you want.
Now, you can argue whether or not the inclusion of heels in Miranda or Samara's outfit is at all practical and I'll agree with you that it isn't and I'd be fine with those elements being removed. You can argue whether or not their low necklines are advisable or just them indulging in a bit of vanity. You can argue whether or not Bioware handwaving Thanes bare chest with his illness that prevents him from covering it is legitimate or a poor excuse for fanservice.
But if this is the line for light armor, I think we're being very arbitrary with that line.

Sigh,
Honestly I could care less either way. It would be hilarious if in ME:A we STILL get women that are sexualized, even in combat. I wonder what the complaints would be then? Boycott ME5?

Not really, their armor is roughly similar to this

No we want them as hot as possible !
And not just a character. A friggin' robot.
True, but it was originally a robot designed for human infiltration.

Thankfully, all you've got to do is not activate her white catsuit. Which is even easier to do now with EDI's alt appearance.

SO much better
The fact is, you can argue against me and say that I am speaking to a boogyman, but the fact is, this thread IS about SJW perspectives in the idea that people are against women being sexualized in videogames. Anita Sarkeesian would be proud of this thread.
People want to hide behind the guise of "realism" but yet there are MANY things that the ME trilogy did that does not fall within the realm of realism and yet nobody is bringing those up, I wonder why?
Telling me this thread is just about realism and now SJW agendas is like telling me the Confederate flag has no racial connotations to it, just "heritage".
Would you be fine with a crotch shot of a male character? And have that happen almost every time you talked to that character?
Personally I would be completely fine if James had his dick out every time I talked to him. I'm not even bi but to me it's just a dick *shrugs.* Though given the rating on the game I absolutey understand it would hardly be appropriate. The reason I probably find it so hard to understand the complaints is because I have such a high tolerance for such things. A clothed ass is nothing or crotch and I probably wouldn't even notice.
If they added in VPL with lingering crotch shots on a male character, I could just imagine the comments now: "SJWs are shoving their gay and feminist agenda into our dudebro game and ruining the series!!!!!"
ETA: Can I officially place my vote with @Agent69's suggestion about James? That's what I'd like to see in ME: A.

See, I see a very clear distinction between that and what the asari commando is wearing. The plating there, at the hips, crotch, upper chest, and arms, is very obvious. The "plating" on the commando just looks like a distinct segment of whatever polymer the suit's made out of.
At least that's what I'm seeing.

Maybe you should actually read the thread instead of going "this thread is about SJW persepective and they hate attractive women"

/facepalm
Nvm there's no point in trying to continue
SO much better
Definitely. It'd be even more improved without the blue "window" on her chest, but the alt appearance is quite tolerable.

After telling me I was "afraid" of a pose by Kasumi? You obviously do care enough to post several times. And continue to post about what your boogeymen are.
This whole mess reminds me of a little bit of the Red Scare, only with SJWs instead of commies. "Careful, the ones you love might be a SJW! SJWs are ruining society!"
No, I wouldn't boycott it. I have boycotted very few things in my life outright. I may or may not buy it, but if you think that sexualization of a female character is enough to make me close my wallet, think again. I have expressed what I would prefer, and thankfully, the devs at least agreed with the Butt-Cam. The cameltosis...meh. I hope for some alternate looks for inside the ship, so I could have the choice. I think Jacob looked utterly ridiculous too in his overly-tight suit.
No one in here is a SJW (except those that call themselves such) or a "dudebro." We care about this thread, which is why we are here. We've all got preferences. Just like the OP. I gave reasons that are more for me about aesthetics than anything related to society in this case.

I'm not a fan of the Asari commando's outfit myself because of the way it looks
But there is a difference between their outfit and what Miranda wears

Love the size of the plate protecting Shepard's "essence".

This thread is about characters being sexualized in general. Not only females, but males as well. I never specified gender and there is a reason for that (because both male and female characters have been sexualized). This has nothing to do with social justice, I dont know why I have to repeat myself so many times.

As icing on the cake, the armored codpiece can have a superfluous non-specific symbol smack dab in the middle.

I've been trying to back you up here. <hug>

Duh:

The trouble with "overly" is we're almost never going to be sure that we understand each other, because one person's "overly" is another person's "perfectly acceptable."
When some people read "overly sexualized," they're thinking of the close up shots of Miranda's bottom.
When I read "overly sexualized," I think of Holli Would.
