Maia, the person you're responding to has proven to be either a troll, or just someone with very poor reading comprehension. The fact that he recently switch to gifs to convey his thoughts is telling, as they're quite a bit more eloquent. Whichever is true, it's probably smarter to ignore.

Anywho, this was a pretty fun thread for awhile.

So Maia ignores the OP's purpose of this thread to bring up her own issues and yet I am the "troll" with reading comprehension issues?

ok....

And, posts like this, that don't address my comments are why I don't care what people like you think.

shall I instead endeavor to try and change your mind?

and posts like this are why you won't, rightly so, be taken seriously

Sorry, but she is correct. There is no way in hell that men suffer the same abuse and or disadvantages as women (and I'm a man, to be clear, and a fairly privileged one at that), especially on a global scale .

I want to correct that in whatever little way I can, as I have a little baby girl and i don't want her to suffer like others do. If that means pointing out when something is blatantly sexist or misogynist, then that's all I can do.

I actually found Anita's videos useful in that, even if I don't agree with what she was saying in parts, at least it made me think about things.

Even without all the social issues involved, how about the fact that the codex tells us that people wear armor, the functions is has for keeping people alive, and that it's really really stupid to get into a gunfight without some means of protecting yourself?

Add to that, the personality of a character should be reflected in  their "casual wear" and ME2 did a rather poor job of doing that

Like seriously, I'm going to be cringing if we have characters running around in stiletto's, catsuits, spandex, etc.

Not to mention exposed skin in combat and outer space

EDIT: I am mainly referring to the combat outfits, casual outfits are ok

EDIT 2: This has nothing to do with being politically correct, as I could care less about that bullcrap. This is about logic and practicality

EDIT 3: If you are going to bring up feminism, Anita Sarkesian, or any of the gamergate, feminism gaming war bullcrap, then please feel free to get the **** off my thread.

Please read the OP people

OMG, how did you know? That's the point I was totally making! Only ugly women should be used in media! I couldn't possibly be arguing against a woman's looks and sexuality being depicted as the only things that make her valuable! I mean who wants smart, kind, fun, sporty, whatever women in media. More boobies or no sell!

And I kind of agree with you there. I don't mind sexy women as long as they don't start doing stupid s*** in order to give me an erection and convince me to buy x product, support x thing, etc. As I've said before in this same thread, I can't stand sexy outfits in games and movies. But sexy women? Sure.

Yeah, just dismiss the link between how women are depicted and rape culture. No way, any of this is linked. Nice try.

Because the Secret Society for the Further Spread of Patriarchy (the secret society [the Masons, Illuminati, etc. are decoys] that meets every year in order to discuss ways in which we males can further oppress women and spread the Patriarchy) is indoctrinating us males that raping women is okay! Halp!!

So you just want to bluntly ignore the true purpose of this thread to push through your own ideals?

I can understand if you created your OWN thread that SPECIALLY talks about such issues but you didn't. Instead, you took someone else  concept and hijacked it to make it your own purpose.

I'm addressing the part of the issue that I want to address. You are free to address the issues you want to address. But, you don't get to dictate how I frame my arguments. And honestly, all I really see is a lot of people that don't like feminism wanting to get the conversation back to a place where they feel comfortable. Feel free to ignore me if you can't keep up.

Agreed, but on a relative scale they are much smaller than the issues women face.

So why not create your own thread that specifically addresses these issues? Why come to a thread that has an entirely different intention and turn it into something that it wasn't meant for?

Didn't the OP have to correct you in what his stated intention with regards to this thread was? And again, I thought you had left?

I could say the same thing about you constantly bringing up the Lazarus project and pretending everyone here liked it when many have already told you otherwise. If you want to discuss how unrealistic it and other things are, make a thread about it.

I'm not on here to win friends. For the record, I can care about more than one thing. I can care about men and their issues. However, I don't have to spend my time advocating for men. You guys have that well covered. So, feel free to discuss men and their issue all day long. I'll be over here discussing women's issues. See, how that works?
