Didn't the OP have to correct you in what his stated intention with regards to this thread was? And again, I thought you had left?

He did correct me and I apologized. I had called him out on trying to make a SJWish thread when I failed to read his OP. Once he corrected me, I went back and read his OP and got a better understanding of the thread. I admit my wrong doing and told him so.

I'm not on here to win friends. For the record, I can care about more than one thing. I can care about men and their issues. However, I don't have to spend my time advocating for men. You guys have that well covered. So, feel free to discuss men and their issue all day long. I'll be over here discussing women's issues. See, how that works?

So why can't you create a thread that discusses women's issues in ME:A? That is the question. This thread is not about women's issues but about unrealistic combat outfits for both men and women.

I guess I am not the only one with reading comprehension problems....

Haha! You're right. In my defense, I'm literally a teacher at an art college. I have an MFA in Design. It's my job to overthink these things, and make my students overthink them as well. :)

EDIT: And it is an important discussion, the poster is just a way into it.

I might be overthinking it, too.

This is the first impression, though, and we don't have much else to go on at this point. If that pose is any indication of how the female PC will be animated in the game - well, I really hope the exaggerated runway strut animations in DA don't show up in ME. I mean, if I wanted to play Bayonetta, I'd buy it.

This thread...

It's pretty simple.  I'd like combat-appropriate armor to be worn in combat, and what is clearly not combat-appropriate "armor" to be worn any other time.  The same goes for hazardous environment armor.  For men and women.  YES THAT INCLUDES THANE AND JACOB.

Why?  Because I think it looks dumb.  It's distracting.  It's occasionally immersion-breaking.  Yes, there are numerous other "realism" issues, some far more egregious... which also deserve to be discussed, but this is the one we're discussing right now, here, in this thread.  "A time and a place..."

I don't care what anyone wears outside of combat.  Not having the camera inexplicably gravitate and linger on butts would be welcome though.  On all characters.  Men and women.  YES THAT INCLUDES THANE AND JACOB.  And asari.  Also hanar.

And if MEA instead continues these trends instead of bucking them?  I'll be disappointed and annoyed, again... but it won't stop it from being a good game (potentially) or me from purchasing it (potentially).

Thane and Jacob.

Because the Secret Society for the Further Spread of Patriarchy (the secret society [the Masons, Illuminati, etc. are decoys] that meets every year in order to discuss ways in which we males can further oppress women and spread the Patriarchy) is indoctrinating us males that raping women is okay! Halp!!

Spoiler

Uh, huh. Total strawman and I suspect you know it.

Okay, let me put it simply for you. I'm discussing a portion of the issue brought up in the OP. I'm not required by some law to add my thoughts about men's armor as well to stay on topic. Understand? I can break the topic down into the parts I want to discuss. You don't get to dictate what I say.

I wrote pretty much the same a couple of pages ago, but it was drowned in the flood of posts generated by the current discussion. I'm kinda upset about that, to be honest. :P

Yep, this is what I've been trying to say since the beginning. To bad it keeps getting drowned out by some people and whatever their motivations are.

It's not like OP can monitor what people posts in the thread. You can ask, but you don't really own threads on forum sites. If people will find topics that they think are related to topic in OP they will discuss them and sometimes discussion goes forward to other points depending on what comes up in the posts. That's how threads usually go, especially if they are long like this one. If they are below 10 then they tend to stay more on topic.

This does not add value to the topic as the OP distinctively said that he didn't want this to turn into a feminist debate. However you ignored that and bring up feminist issues.

In fact, I think your topic/fight would get more quality replies and a better quality discussion if you just created your own thread. However you did not do that and you essentially hijacked the thread trying to push through your own issue that is foreign to what the OP wanted. However you won't do that because by doing so, you see it as some sort of "victory for the man who wants to dictate the female voice!"

I am a black male and if I have a problem with how black men/women are portrayed in Mass Effect, then I would want a quality discussion around it and thus I would create my own thread. I won't go into a thread talking about one thing and try to  single out a small detail to make it a valuable discussion like you did.

Well now that everyone is getting along I'm going to bring this up. as for the the edi camel toe thing, you have to remember her body was trying to pass off as a human wearing a skin tight catsuit thus the camel  toe. Now let the arguing commence.

Yeah, threads with heated discussions tend to get locked.

If people would stop the personal insults and discuss calmly... but who am i kidding, no thread like this lasts that long on BSN.

Thankfully, most of the folks you conjured up with your invocation of FemFreq are getting back into their clown cars and driving off to another SJW internet emergency. They tend to have short attention spans.

Duh, sexualization is a feminist issue. The nature of this thread falls into feminism whether you or the OP like it or not.  I don't care if you want me to go away. You are using a silencing tactic. Not cool.
