This thread...

It's pretty simple.  I'd like combat-appropriate armor to be worn in combat, and what is clearly not combat-appropriate "armor" to be worn any other time.  The same goes for hazardous environment armor.  For men and women.  YES THAT INCLUDES THANE AND JACOB.

Why?  Because I think it looks dumb.  It's distracting.  It's occasionally immersion-breaking.  Yes, there are numerous other "realism" issues, some far more egregious... which also deserve to be discussed, but this is the one we're discussing right now, here, in this thread.  "A time and a place..."

I don't care what anyone wears outside of combat.  Not having the camera inexplicably gravitate and linger on butts would be welcome though.  On all characters.  Men and women.  YES THAT INCLUDES THANE AND JACOB.  And asari.  Also hanar.

And if MEA instead continues these trends instead of bucking them?  I'll be disappointed and annoyed, again... but it won't stop it from being a good game (potentially) or me from purchasing it (potentially).

Thane and Jacob.

This.

Pretty much sums up what many of us have said before, don't understand why this thread is still going on. Anyway, the solution to the original paradox stated in the OP has been found. Admins/mods you can close the thread because we have an answer!!

Do you believe femininity and weakness/incompetency go hand and hand?

No, but people were blatantly saying that "most people don't find competent and strong sexually appealing in women."  Am I to infer from that that weak and incompetent *is* sexually appealing?  A better question is "why is strength and competence an antonym of femininity?"

Eesh... spoiler tag that one next time, maybe.

But yeah, that's once again just a massive armor design fail. Nobody's naked and tossing out a crotch shot. They'll think next time they have flesh colored leggings on their armor, though.

It's not as egregious as the robo-toe.

For some reason that ridiculous outfit reminds me of this...

Spoiler

BTW is that a mod or is it actually in the game? Don't remember seeing it before.

Well now that everyone is getting along I'm going to bring this up. as for the the edi camel toe thing, you have to remember her body was trying to pass off as a human wearing a skin tight catsuit thus the camel  toe. Now let the arguing commence.

Yes, because when someone want to hire a researcher (or whatever she was pretending to be) , they need to make sure she has a cameltoe and will check that during a job interview. Na, they would not examine it so closely....I hope

...

Just found it funny really, no arguing

I shouldn't be surprised that people actually said that but I am. Sigh

It's Arrival DLC. I didn't believe it myself until someone mentioned it, so I went back with freecam to have a look.

I don't actual think it is flesh coloured material. It is designed to be skin on inspection.

At least they are going for a little gender equality with the men.

Yeah, the robo-toe (lol, nice one) bothered me. Didn't they try to pawn it off as some kind of animation problem?

To be completely fair to the person who said that, I think he was actually saying that being competent and strong are specifically what attracts men to women, not that men aren't attracted to competent and strong women.

Which is still wrong, but not as horrifying as it sounds when you say it the other way.

Mm. I find this impossible to believe though.
Even WITH the cameltoe, it's just too stupid.

Besides, the material goes up to her collar.

Yea, I guess I am failing to see what's so bad about those particular armor sets.  They are just ugly.  They don't seem sexualized.  It's a weird case of texture fail.
