I just caught up on the last 21 pages I missed. The thread ate all of my likes and I have several tabs pulled up for later. I'm going to make some coffee. I'm also going to pretend that I didn't just read a lot of pages of posters, many of whom I respect and a few I consider friends, throwing "SJW" and "MRA members" around like cheap toilet paper.
Poor OP. He didn't realize the can of worms he accidentally opened up. This just became the thread to talk about things related to men and women in "geek" culture. I saw comics, toys and other games come out, so we've broadened beyond BioWare at this point.
A few quick notes and then I'm going to go finish BDtS:
- I don't think anyone has the right to judge a parent to their face unless they are one.
- My sister-in-law has also requested no pink toys from her family and friends. My niece gets pink clothes all the time, although not from me.
- If anyone brings up a certain critic or a certain website that starts with an "F", please ignore it.
- If anyone brings up groups starting with the letter "M" or "G", please ignore it.
To the OP: I think the thread went where it did was partially because there is no feedback section for this game, yet. Also, even before the whole critic thing blew up, this was becoming a hot topic. Sexualized characters, "sexy" poses and even the gendering of toys (which, why LEGO?) ties into each other. It's one thing leading to another. However, since this thread is more about the armor, I think you should edit your title OP. If you use the Full Editor function, you can change your thread title. By talking about sexualized characters rather than sexualized armor, it's going to lead into these social conversations.
My advice is to either ride with it, or maybe change the title. It might help redirect some of the conversation. Of course, it might be too late now.
