This is my favourite configuration:

What I can't understand is that they did generally a good job with shep's outfits, yet when it came to other female charcters they reverted to a 14 year old xbone player.

The best armors in ME3 are the Cerberus ones. Cerberus Ajax and Inferno for starters, then replaced them with Nightmare, Shade or Spirit later. The N7 gear doesn't even come close.

I seriously hope there is T&A and abs all over the place here(for the guys and the ladies). At the end of the day, its a videogame. I play them for the story, to have a good time and see crazy/mind blowing things.  Pick one triple A game that sold millions with a character that isnt good looking, skinny? Does it make me shallow that I and millions of others, would rather play games with characters that are good looking rather then obese/ugly characters? If so then I am fine with it, in the end, its the internet and none of this matters, just people throwing their own opinions on the internet.

But I think people are focusing too much on one thing. Lets look at Jack from ME2, all she had was a strip of cloth hiding her nipples(Hot!), but did you see that parts of her body are scarred up? Did you pay attention to her personality? A person hiding her feelings by doing stupid things, killing, crashing a space station into the moon, getting tattoos all over? Or Miranda, people are always like, DAT ASS! but she was designed to be perfect by her father, is it her fault? She matures over time, saving her little sister, stopping her father from doing evil things and all people do is focus on her body.  To me, those people who do are shallow, grow up. If you are concerned how a looks in a videogame, go to Africa and help the starving people there for a few months, something that actually makes a difference in the world and you will see that how someone looks in a videogame doesn't mean **** at the end of the day.

These are characters created in a videogame universe, created. Some are flawed, some are perfect and some are designed this way because 90 out of 100 people want it that way. So in the end, lets just enjoy this game even if its unrealistic, hell who knows, maybe obesity was cured in the ME universe since humans can live a lot longer in that time.

More like Halo and Tony Stark made a contract deal :P

Not really seeing Iron Man there. Shape of the helmet and the unnecessary torso clutter make the thing look kinda buggy.  Kinda like the Collector armor, actually.

If the outfit fits matches the character's personality, I have no problem with it. Isabela would dress how she does, where as I'm not sure Samara would actually wear her outfit...

I have gone back and played ME2 and ME 3 recently to re-cap my memory of these games and besides Kelly and Traynor there isn't a genuinely attractive main female character in these games. It must be incredibly hard to make good character designs in a video game that will have broad appeal, the end result of the character models based on Chobot and Strahovski are evidence of this.

The new generation of graphics technology might make it easier but even so I don't see why you would purposely make the female leads unattractive considering how hard it is to make them attractive in a game. It's not like making a movie where even a slightly above average person can be appealing, it's much harder to make pixels appealing and even harder still if it's an alien race. That said, too much sexulization can be unattractive but I don't think the goal should be to make the characters unattractive.

Cases of unwarranted sexualization aside, I thought the character designs in the trilogy were excellent.

The variety was broad enough to appeal to people with different tastes while also avoiding sameness. There are few things I find more uninspired and unappealing than the same Barbie face on every character with only the haircolor, hairstyle, eyecolor changed.

I always liked the Hahn Kedar armor.

ME3_ArmourHahneKedar_Female.jpg?format=7

Looks practical, no real difference between male and female version, and aesthetically inoffensive.  I personally only would have liked the cloth covering replaced with something a little more solid, but that's a minor gripe.

I would definitely like to see more armor with these qualities in the future.

Ok, I'll bite.

No one really debates the points you made. No one argues against sexy characters.

What we are asking for is that they put on actual armor when they go on a mission. With a closed helmet.

They can wear whatever at any other time. They can dance in their underwear when on the ship for all I care but exposed eyes and skin on a planet with toxic atmosphere? That's just stupid. Do Miranda or Liara strike you as stupid? Didn't think so. So why are they not wearing proper gear?

Why is an experienced veteran like Zaeed not wearing proper armor? He already almost died once, I'm sure he isn't keen on repeating that anytime soon.

Btw... people are talking about Miranda's ass so much because ME2 rubbed it into our faces all the time.

Minecraft is one of the best selling games of all time and it has little more than a lego man as the character. Sex sells, but good gameplay trumps sex appeal.

Plus, most people aren't actually asking for characters to not be attractive. They're asking for them to wear something on the battlefield that actually resembles combat attire.

Plus, there's no rule that says ladies in armour can't look good(and yes, I realize the irony behind posting a character from this game series =P):

My favorite armors from the Shepard trilogy were these...

af7ml0.png

jsc9iv.png

....paired with the N7 gauntlets for the colored stripe down the arm, the default N7 or Hahne-Kedar greaves, the Ariake shoulders, and the default N7 helmet, the Kuwashii visor, or the Sentry interface.

I'd also really love the Ajax armor if it wasn't for that awful and stupid decision for it to be in a Cerberus color scheme complete with a Cerberus logo. It looks awesome, but from a story point of view brutally murders suspension of disbelief. It should have had an Alliance or Spectre paint job. Modded versions look so much better and more appropriate:

Well actually it was Bioware's team who decided to focus on her butt. I can't control camera during cut-scenes after all and if 60% of screen is her butt when I talk with her about stuff like saving her little sister and stopping her father.. it's hardly my fault on being distracted by the butt. So my hope is that Bioware's team stops with their butt-obsession for next game and maybe limits butt-shots at least into appropriate contexts (romance and flirting).

The characters based on Chobot and Strahovski weren't exactly what I would call a successfull portrail of their real life counter-parts and if the goal wasn't attractive characters in these cases why base them on real life people who are actually very attractive? It's not easy to portay human characteristics accurately in a game obviously and maybe they shouldn't even try too hard to do it. Perhaps it's best to go with stylistic design over realism. Technology might change this but I don't think it's there yet or at least wasn't when these games were made.

What I don't get is why wasn't the buttshot moved to the "I can't admire your body or your mind?" conversation I mean...really. That's perfect context for a buttshot.

But no let's put it when she's pouring her heart out about her sister. Cause that makes damn sense.

No one is arguing against characters being attractive, from what I've seen.

They are just saying they'd like to have seen them wearing something more practical or appropriate when in combat, and the camera not positioned for a close up of their ass while they are talking. That shot of Miranda Lawson that everyone makes fun of even cuts her head out of the frame. How does that make sense for scene in which she is having a conversation with Shepard?

I really liked the Ajax armor but I could not stand the Cerberus colors and logo. Using it feels so stupid, it reminds me of the first part of this video (in 0:05).

Kaidan - "Do you know anything about why Cerberus is here?"

Shepard (Wearing Cerberus armor) - "What makes you think I know what they're up to?"

You worked with Cerberus. You say that you no longer work for them but you still go around wearing their armor and colors... I just used armor pieces to create something with similar stats.

That would be great.

I also hope the development team sticks to armor designs that make some sense for the main character to be wearing. If they're going to give him/her an ability to wear something similar to what the enemies wear, it should get a reskin so it has the protagonist's organizational colors and logo on it rather than that of the people you're fighting.

Fully agree. Would like if I didn't already run out...
