My favorite armors from the Shepard trilogy were these...

af7ml0.png

jsc9iv.png

....paired with the N7 gauntlets for the colored stripe down the arm, the default N7 or Hahne-Kedar greaves, the Ariake shoulders, and the default N7 helmet, the Kuwashii visor, or the Sentry interface.

I'd also really love the Ajax armor if it wasn't for that awful and stupid decision for it to be in a Cerberus color scheme complete with a Cerberus logo. It looks awesome, but from a story point of view brutally murders suspension of disbelief. It should have had an Alliance or Spectre paint job. Modded versions look so much better and more appropriate:

It really made no sense since it was on the Citadel of all places, so your telling me that the Alliance nor the Citadel people never modified the armor while they had it?

Come on now lol

Mod support for consoles would make my day.

Bethesda knows how to please it's fans. Hopefully it'll be a big success.

It's going to be curated by Bethesda though, which means it will likely be pretty limited, and that it'll be hard to get a lot of the fun stuff past them. Not even talking about the nudie mods, though those are on the record as verboten, too.

Essentially, if you want to wander the wasteland as the Batman, PC is still gonna be your best bet.

Baby steps in the right direction, though!

"I know you're worried about your sister, but dat ass" :P

 I mean really though. I don't mind context appropriate sexy shots. If someone's talking about their muscles and the game does a body pan I go with it. Game is adding some visuals for the dialogue. But damnit. Assshots when she's talking about how her life is in danger (in ME3) are so freaking stupid.

So many prudish people.

Uh, no.

Just because I argued against Miranda's ass cam, or characters going into battle in catsuits or with lots of exposed skin, doesn't mean I'm a prude that objects to any adult content. I'm against gratuitous content, or content that sexualizes a character at the expense of that character's common sense and my suspension of disbelief.

In fact, I have absolutely no problem with nudity in the game or sex scenes that would make the game not suitable for anyone under 18. That is, so long as it makes sense for the characters involved, is appropriate for whatever the situation is, and isn't gratuitous. I assume I'm not alone in that.

Speaking of butt-obsession...I remain hopeful for fewer, or at least shallower, wedgies in Andromeda.

I sincerely hope so. I have no problem with people showing off their backsides but Miranda's just looks annoying and/or painful to me.

You are not. I'd take out elements like Jack's booby strap in a heartbeat. I would make romances more detailed, I would fade to black much later and I definitely would upgrade the conversations to include more adult topics as well.

That would be amazing, but watch them go and make the butt equivalent of boob armour

For Andromeda I'd hope the standard armour will be somewhere in the direction of the Cerberus engineers in ME3.

me3_combat_engineer.jpg

So very similiar to the Ajax armor but just slightly less bulky.

Lighter armour should be more akin to Anderson's battle dress worn during the final mission.

I really liked how in Mass Effect 3 it faded back in to the characters in bed, and there was some dialogue afterward. More so Liara than Fem Shep/Ashley though, because a female character putting a bra back on to go to sleep is almost as big a Wut? moment as two characters hopping into a shower with their clothes on.

You won't be seeing this in fallout 4 on consoles:

Spoiler

Nor, I suspect, in ME:A. Seems we have to leave that up to the Poles.

Inquisition took some steps forward in that regard.

Yeah after Inquisition, I think it's safe to assume that perma-bra romance sequences are dead.

It isn't just Miranda. Wedgies have been a staple since ME1.

I'd rather they didn't show the PC nude. It sort of creeps me out to think there are devs sitting in some studio somewhere deciding how my character is gonna look in her birthday suit.

I haven't played far enough for a romance yet in that game, so can't comment - good news if so.

It was such a bizarre design decision. If it was due to reluctance to show nudity, a better way to have gone about it would have been clever use of camera angles and lighting/shadows to cover or obscure the bits that would require a mature rating. It is how it is often done in film when the film has a sex scene that doesn't have any nudity. In fact ME3 even does it with Liara's sex scene. It just doesn't with some of the others, for whatever reason.

Mass effect is a mature rated game though. I guess that only applies to blowing people's heads apart.

I prefer a simple fade to black. It saves us from those ridiculous, hilarious and awkward sex scenes like in the Witcher yet we still know that they did something there. If people want to see boobs or penises there are plenty of webpages that offer that kind of content.

I'm not a fan of that double standard either, but it is what it is.

As far as romance scenes go I'm okay with either nude or non-nude so long as they are well executed and not hilariously bad (see DA:O). In both film and games there are good and bad examples of both.

I do prefer some sort of cutscene to a fade to black however, whether or not that scene contains nudity. Fades to black just aren't very cinematic, and it can be somewhat weird with it fading back in to these two characters standing around awkwardly and fully clothed, and not saying anything. If they go with the fade to black to cut out any racy bits, I'd rather it faded back in with the two characters in bed and talking, sort of like they did immediately following the romance scenes at the end of ME3.

Not only that, but it allows me more role-play freedom.

I'm not too keen on how cinematic the series has become, anyway. I prefer using my own imagination to fill in the more intimate bits.

I mean, really, how many times have we seen people complain about the way Shepard behaved in some scenes?

@Han Shot First

They did it in ME1 too.  I think the Fox news incident scared them off that approach afterwards.

I think with Liara in ME3 it was a matter of resources.  The human females share a "nude" model, I think, with variables for skin tone.  They had to make Liara a unique nude model so they went ahead and did away with the underwear while they were at it.  Why they didn't invest in a nude female human model?  I don't know, file it under "Rushed development"

It's so weird that they nailed it, as far as I'm concerned, in ME1. In 2007.

And yet, here we are.

It would be easier to buy into the idea that this was only an issue of practicality for people if they would phrase it in the form of, "give me the option to have my squad mates wear practical armour in combat" as opposed to, "please remove the option to have the squad mates wear outfits that I do not approve of (for whatever reason.)"

I have no objection to the inclusion of outfit options to provide more choice for people who want to customize the game to their preference. But, when people want to remove options that they would never see in their own SP game simply because they don't want anyone else to have that option, it gets a little hard to believe that it's not because they're offended by the idea in some way.
